Katie Holmes was glowing at the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner on Monday night, following her reunion with Dawson’s Creek co-star, and old flame, Joshua Jackson, for the First Daughter actress’ movie Happy Hours.

A whole 25 years after their first project together, the former lovers have come back together to film a new movie, written and directed by the Alone Together actress, in New York.

It seems the reunion has been a positive addition to the 47-year-old’s life, as she made a showstopping appearance on the carpet in head-to-toe Chanel.

The Ohio-born actress wore a sleeveless, slightly sheer linen top with high-waisted wide-leg black trousers – looking classic and polished. The slightly 70s-influenced silhouette and dark oxblood leather belt cinched her at the waist, tying in the cream and black together in a warm earthy tone.

Beneath minimal makeup, her skin looked ageless, as fans speculate whether her radiant complexion might have something to do with recent, or rather old, new addition to her life.

Speaking with Variety, Katie confessed: “To be honest, it was unexpected” about the fan reaction to her reuniting with Joshua. “I know we were on a show that a lot of people watched, but I guess we never fully realized the impact. It still kind of throws all of us.”

The star’s new endeavor, Happy Hours, is set to be the first of a trilogy, where two high school sweethearts serendipitously cross paths years later in New York City. Liz, a freshly divorced photographer, and Andrew, a travel writer who broke her heart as a teen.

Fans can’t help but connect the dots between the Happy Hours plot and the real life story, as Katie recalled when she first thought Joshua might be the right guy to play Andrew opposite her Liz, asking him: “Is this even a potential? Is this something you’d want to do?”

“We hadn’t worked together in 25 years, and we’ve changed a lot,” she admitted, adding: “We also wanted to give ourselves the space to show different sides of ourselves and to not portray these people we’re known for,” referring to their Dawson’s Creek characters Joey and Pacey.

And though 25 years have passed, the now mother admits, “We’ve always done well working off one another. He directs me and I direct him without us even mentioning it.”

Fans are delighted to see the couple, who briefly found love during the filming of the original 90s show, come together again to create a new performance. This time, as adults in their midlife, as Katie acknowledged the importance of representing romance at all ages  on-screen.

“It’s important to tell love stories that take place in many different chapters of a person’s life,” she further shared of her concept for the film. “You’re allowed to fall in love in middle age. I think that’s a little underrepresented [in media].”
