Over the past few years, we’ve noticed that the Princess of Wales has been enjoying bespoke creations when it comes to her fabulous wardrobe. Once a huge fan of the high street, regularly sporting Topshop and Zara, the wife of Prince William appears to have made a conscious fashion shift – opting for items designed exclusively for her by fashion houses, from Catherine Walker to Self-Portrait.
That being said, the 44-year-old is still partial to an ‘off-the-peg’ item – a garment that one can purchase in a store or online. A great example of this is the ‘Ahana’ dress by Beulah London.
The brand is known for its incredibly cut dresses, and it even has a special family connection – the founder, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, is a friend of the royals. The highly successful label was founded in 2010, and their designs are instantly recognisable due to the elite colourways, sumptuous fabric and form-fitting silhouettes.
Kate famously has over 12 dresses from this brand, but it’s the ‘Ahana’ that is arguably the most memorable, and the royal wore it in the prettiest pastel pink. She wore the style in 2023, when she officially opened the Young V&A (formerly known as the V&A Museum of Childhood) in Bethnal Green, ahead of its opening to the public.
The royal first wore the style on a very special occasion, two years prior. The mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis donned the elegant style to Wimbledon in 2021, teaming it with stiletto high heels. The finish of the dress is modern, flattering and timeless. Kate will be wearing this for years to come.
For Spring 2026, the dress now comes in a fabulous bold red – one of the most regal colours that the Princess wears a lot.
Why does the Princess of Wales wear red?
Colour expert, personal stylist and fashion commentator Marina Thomas previously told HELLO! that Kate wears red at important and stately engagements for myriad reasons. “The Princess of Wales often wears red to high-profile events, as did her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. “One reason Kate may be choosing to wear red is due to it symbolising courage, willpower and sacrifice,” Marina told HELLO!.
The talented professional added: “The colour red is also strongly associated with love, as well as with protection. In many cultures, it is believed to defend against negativity. “This is certainly a strong message Kate is either actively or subliminally choosing to send to the public: a message of unity, strength, and hope,” she noted.
