Kai Trump has opened up about the influence Tiger Woods has had on her life and burgeoning golf career.
The 19-year-old aspiring golfer praised the 15-time major champion, who has been in a relationship with her mother, Vanessa Trump, since late 2024.
Speaking to Us Weekly on the red carpet at the 2026 ESPY Awards in New York City on July 15, Kai revealed that Tiger’s guidance has extended far beyond the golf course.
“He’s inspired me a lot,” she said. “Just to be a better person, better golfer, and stuff like that.”
Asked to share the most valuable advice the 50-year-old sporting legend had given her, Kai replied: “Just keep on being you and just live life. He’s amazing.”
Kai made her LPGA Tour debut in November 2025 and is preparing to join the University of Miami women’s golf team as a freshman for the 2026–27 season.
The rising golfer has already competed across the Srixon Medalist Tour, the American Junior Golf Association and South Florida PGA circuits, earning several strong finishes during her junior career.
As the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, Kai acknowledged that public interest in her personal life has increased, but said she tries to maintain a sense of normality away from high-profile appearances.
She explained that she balances glamorous events such as the ESPYs with spending time privately with friends and continuing to live like an ordinary teenager.
Tiger and Vanessa made their relationship public in March 2025, when the golfer shared photographs of the couple on social media and asked for privacy as they embarked on their life together.
Kai’s comments come after Tiger completed more than a month of treatment at a rehabilitation centre in Switzerland following his March arrest.
The golfer was charged with DUI, property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful test after his vehicle rolled onto its side near his Florida home. A breath test found no alcohol in his system, and no injuries were reported.
Tiger has pleaded not guilty to the charges. In a statement released before entering treatment, he acknowledged the seriousness of his situation and said he was stepping away to focus on his health and long-term recovery.
