Grammy-winning superstar Marc Anthony is a busy man, what with his iconic music career and large brood of eight kids, born from four different women – including singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.
The 56-year-old is a proud father to Arianna, Chase, Cristian, Ryan, Marco, Myla, and most famously, his twins Max and Oskar, whom he welcomed with Jennifer in 2008.
The couple tied the knot in 2004, but went their separate ways in 2011 when the twins were just three years old.
“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters,” Jennifer and Marc said in a joint statement. “It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Inside their complicated bond
© Kevin MazurIn the years since their 2014 divorce was finalized, Marc has appeared less and less in public with Max and Oskar, hinting at a certain distance in their parent-child bonds, possibly due to his jam-packed touring schedule.
“The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time. What I would have done to have been a stay-at-home dad and, you know, witness every second of everything,” Marc shared in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning.

“I would have loved that. Didn’t work out that way. So it’s the one thing that just tugs at me…That’s the biggest sacrifice. And you sort of start to wonder, was it all worth it? Was it worth it?”
Doing it on her own?
Jennifer hinted in a 2026 interview on the SmartLess podcast that Marc was less involved in her twins’ lives than she would’ve liked. “Now I can really look at my life, appreciate it for what it is and what I’ve created for myself and be really happy,” the Office Romance actress explained.
“And both my kids got into all their colleges, and they both got scholarships, and they’re going where they want to go.”
“I was like, ‘You did that [expletive] all by yourself.’ That’s great. Like, ‘You had very little help,’ you know?” Marc was absent from both Max and Oskar’s high school graduation ceremonies in 2026, a fact which raised more than a few eyebrows amongst his and Jennifer’s fans.
© InstagramDespite rumors of a fractured relationship, Marc spoke about the highs and lows of parenting teenagers in 2025.
“If you learned anything after all these years, is whatever they want, whatever they say,” he quipped to E! News. “No, they’re wonderful. I have a wonderful family…I’m just enjoying this stage of my life,” he added.
Parenting with Jennifer
Marc has been open about maintaining a strong co-parenting bond with Jennifer in the wake of their divorce. “We’re close,” he said in a 2015 episode of The Meredith Vieira Show. “We trust each other. I was proud of her. I know what it takes, and I know her very, very well. I just did everything in my power to be supportive of her.”
© Getty ImagesTwo years later, Marc’s ex-wife confirmed that the pair had an easy friendship and were even working together on her album, Por Primera Vez, which was never released in full.
“We’re just in a really great place, and the kids get to spend time with the two of us more together and see us working together,” she said on Live with Kelly. “It’s just good for the whole family.”

“We share something very special in the kids, and we know that. We’re there for them, and that’s the main thing.”
