USMNT star Christian Pulisic is gearing up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 27-year-old is known in the sporting world by his nickname “Captain America”. “I mean, I feel like I’m constantly playing in big games. For me personally, it’s not like all that much is changing. It’s just another big tournament, to be honest,” he told GQ.
“A lot of people are trying to make it even more than it is. I get it, it’s a huge tournament. I’m looking forward to it,” he added.
But away from the playing field, Christian has also found himself at the centre of several high-profile romances.
Alexa Melton
Christian began dating competitive golfer and USC grad Alexa Melton in June 2024. The soccer player initially slid into Alexa’s DMs. They were first spotted together at the U.S. Women’s Open in Pennsylvania.
However, the couple ended their relationship in April 2026. Alexa called out her ex on Instagram shortly after. When a social media follower described the breakup as a “generational fumble” that “will be studied for years to come,” Alexa replied with a question about how many likes it would take to post his profile on Raya — the exclusive dating app — before revealing that he had been on it “before it even ended.”
However, Alexa retraced her statement only a few days later. “I’ve made some comments on a private matter and it’s been taken out of context,” she penned on her Instagram Stories. “I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine.”
Christian opened up about his former relationship in an interview with Time. “I only look at her in the most positive way. She was a lot of fun, and she supported me in every way. She wanted to push me to enjoy my life a little bit more and do things with her and do things just in general. And I was grateful for that,” he shared.
Sydney Sweeney
Chrsitian was previously romantically linked to the actress Sydeny Sweeney in December 2025 following her split from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino. “Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” Christian wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives.”
