Inside Elliot Page’s private life with ‘hot-girl’ comedian girlfriend

Elliot Page is among the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s hotly anticipated epic, The Odyssey, which is set to be one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters.

The 39-year-old Inception actor portrays the Greek soldier Sinon in this almost three-hour adaptation of Homer’s ancient poem, appearing alongside the likes of Matt Damon, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway.

Who is Elliot’s girlfriend?

Elliot is dating stand-up comedian, actress, and writer Julia Shiplett. It’s the Juno star’s first public relationship since he came out as transgender and non-binary in December 2020.

While it’s unclear how the couple met, Elliot made the relationship ‘Instagram official’ when he shared a selfie of himself and Julia in June 2025 to celebrate Pride Month. The pair later made their red carpet debut at Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2026 show during Milan Fashion Week.

Julia, who studied journalism and mass communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, made her screen debut in 2018 in an episode of the show Crashing, before landing a part in the TV series Love Life and a voice role in American Dad!. She has also appeared in the miniseries Ad World. 

Her most notable role is in the comedy series Overcompensating, which will soon return for a second season.

In an interview with Vulture, Julia revealed how embracing her “hot-girl comedy” style has impacted her career. 

“For years, I thought if I dressed as plainly and asexually as possible, people wouldn’t have a preconceived notion of me or my material and would take me more seriously as a comedian,” she explained.

“But if hot-girl comedy has proven anything, it’s that you can be very funny while also being sexy and stylish. Now, I think wearing something fun and special onstage is a sign of showmanship – it shows you made an effort for your audience.”

Prior to his relationship with Julia, Elliot was married to choreographer Emma Portner for three years. The couple announced their divorce in 2021. 

Elliot’s home life

Elliot, who hails from Canada, lives in New York with his adorable dog, Mo, who regularly appears on his Instagram account. 

In an interview with Them in 2024, Elliot revealed that he loves nothing more than to take Mo on a walk around Manhattan’s parks. The actor described the city as “this endless adventure,” full of “interesting spaces, people living their lives and existing.”
