Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are due to travel to the UK for the first time in four years as their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will attend the “One Year To Go” ceremony on 9 July for the Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham in 2027.

The Sussex children were last in the UK in 2022 for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The trip will be a special one for Archie and Lilibet as they will likely reunite with their grandfather, King Charles. The Duke of Sussex reportedly wants to introduce his children to wider family members while also showing them places from his childhood.

But it remains unclear whether Archie and Lilibet will spend any time with their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, given the ongoing tensions between Prince Harry and his brother, the Prince of Wales.

Have Prince Harry and Prince William’s children met?

George, Charlotte and Louis have met their cousin Archie. The best documented occasion was on 10 July 2019 at the King Power Royal Polo Charity Day, where William and Harry both played.

Meghan brought along Archie, who was just two months old at the time, and Kate was accompanied by her three children. This remains the only photographed occasion where George, Charlotte and Louis met their cousin, although HELLO! understands that George had a private meeting with Archie prior to their day out.

It appears a lovely day was had by all; Charlotte and George were also pictured looking at their new family member, whilst Harry was seen beaming at his wife over his baby following the conclusion of his polo match.

It remains unclear whether the Wales children have ever met their cousin Lilibet, with the trio away with their parents on an engagement in Cardiff when Lilibet was last in the UK.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s estrangement

According to The Mirror’s Royal Editor Russell Myers, the relationship between the two Princes “couldn’t be worse”. The royal author, who released his book William and Catherine: An Intimate Inside Story in February, discussed the family rift on an exclusive episode of A Right Royal Podcast, and weighed in on the chances of a reconciliation between the brothers.

“Everything I’m told about that relationship is that it couldn’t be worse,” Russell told our hosts, adding that “it’s done”.  “Maybe there is a time in the future,” he added on a hopeful note.

The distance between the royal cousins is due in part to the estrangement between William and Harry

He continued: “There is an awful lot going on. I mean, William and Catherine have got three young children. George is going to start secondary school. They are absolutely worried about the king’s future health, I mean he’s doing absolutely great now, is still having treatment, and Catherine’s just come out of her own treatment.”

“So when you’re looking at the checklist of things that are important to them, that’s way down the list,” the author explained.

Harry has previously spoken publicly about his strained relationship with his brother, including allegations that William confronted him in 2019.  After he left the royal family in 2020, Harry’s rift with his estranged brother has deepened over the years following the release of his Netflix docu-series, Harry & Meghan in 2022, and his tell-all 2023 book, Spare
