Dave Coulier has responded to concerns about his appearance, revealing he has lost 45lbs due to “extensive” cancer treatments.

The Full House alum, who portrayed Joey Gladstone, revealed in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with a “very aggressive” form of stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He was cancer-free by April.

However, in December 2025, he revealed he had been diagnosed with p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of HPV-related throat cancer.

Addressing his weight loss in an update about his health on Thursday, Dave said in an Instagram video: “I haven’t posted in quite a while. The last time that I did, some of you said that I looked differently and I sound differently, and I do.

“What you’re seeing is the side effects of the extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat, and so I haven’t been able to eat solid food in months. So I’ve lost 45 pounds. That’s what you’re seeing. And it’s affected my ability to speak.”

He continued: “Some of you said that I sound differently, so, yeah, you’re right on with what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing. But just a recap: a year-and-a-half ago, I had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and I went through chemotherapy.”

Dave also shared a positive update, telling his followers that his hair “is kind of growing back,” and his recent PET scans looked promising.

“The prognosis looks good for both the carcinoma in my throat and the lymphoma. So we’re very pleased with all of that,” he added.

During his recovery, Dave has been keeping busy with his hobbies, “creating artwork” and “creative writing.”

He has also “been working on AwearMarket.com, our non-toxic store,” and teased some “nice, creative content” from the brand coming soon.

“We’re looking out for your health and so I wish good health to all of you,” he concluded.

In April, the two-time cancer survivor opened up about his “toxic” lifestyle during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“I wanted to know, ‘Why did my lymphatic system crash?’ And I realized as I went down the rabbit hole, everything in my life was toxic,” he admitted. “My toothpaste, my shampoo, the garbage bags, the toilet paper, everything, skin cream, everything.”

“I said, ‘I need to change this, but how do I do it?’ It’s a pretty daunting task to change your lifestyle like that,” he continued. “So I changed one thing. I replaced my toothpaste. And I thought, ‘I put that in my mouth every day, I’m gonna start there.'”

After 35 rounds of targeted radiation, Dave revealed in February that he was in remission with both cancers.

“It’s been a roller coaster ride for sure,” he said on Good Morning America. “I’m in remission with both cancers. And what a journey this has been.”
