Dylan Dreyer was caught off guard during the May 22 instalment of the Today Show when guest musician Jack Antonoff from the rock band Bleachers jokingly questioned her hosting skills.
Following the meteorologistâs weather report, Jack made a surprising comment about the show. âI like the weather stuff.I like when you mess up and it goes viral, you didnât do it,â he said to Dylan.
âI did not mess up, I did not want that to go viral,â replied Dylan. âSheâs a pro,â added Dylanâs co-star, Laura Jarrett.
The musician continued to question Dylan over her hosting abilities. âDo you think about that [messing up],â he asked. âMy favorite stuff is news clips that go viral.â
Jack then asked Craig Melvin whether he had experienced many live on-air moments that later went viral on social media. âI have many, we should probably go to the weather,â replied Craig, as he attempted to avoid the question.
Dylan, who typically presents the Third Hour of Today, stepped in for Carson Daly for the Second Hour of the show. She had to deliver the Pop Start roundup during the episode. âIâm going to talk for a few seconds so you can catch your breath and get ready for Pop Start,â teased Craig. âSheâs been doing stretches,â added Laura.
âI know, I wish Carson was here as thereâs a lot of music,â replied Dylan, as Laura said: âYou got this.â
Aside from her regular role as a NBC anchor, Dylan hosts her own podcast, The Parent Chat with Dylan Dreyer, in conjunction with Today. The description for Dylanâs podcast reads: âHey Glass Half Full fans! As a bonus for you, weâre sharing the trailer for The Parent Chat with Dylan Dreyer â an all-new podcast series from TODAY.Â
âYou know her as TODAYâs candid third hour host. But Dylan Dreyer is also a mom of 3 boys in New York City, trying to figure out the big stuff: how to raise kind, confident, resilient kids and keep her sanity along the way. And like every parent, sometimes she needsâŠHELP! On The Parent Chat, Dylan calls in reinforcements â from parenting experts with big advice to fellow working moms that can help all parents feel less alone. Because parenting doesnât come with a manual, but it can come with a group chat.â
Meanwhile, Craig joined as a regular host on the Today Show following Hoda Kotbâs departure in January 2025. He had been part of the team for years, but his permanent position was a huge move that elevated his career.
