Molly Rogers can create iconic looks in a New York minute.
From âSex and the Cityâ to âThe Devil Wears Prada,â the famed costume designer has worked on plenty of Big Apple-based titles over the years. And now, sheâs bringing that inimitable eye to her On 34th x Molly Rogers collection, a collaboration with Macyâs in-house brand thatâs priced entirely under $150.
âThe collection is inspired by all of my greatest hits throughout my career,â Rogers told Page Six Style, saying she especially drew upon her âmany experiences on NYC fashion projects.â
Fittingly, the drop closely follows the premiere of âThe Devil Wears Prada 2,â which features a sartorial feast of Rogers-curated looks â including her personal âfavorite,â a tasseled Dries Van Noten jacket worn by Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).
The most challenging outfit to source, on the other hand? âThe Hamptons look for Andy,â she told us, referencing the characterâs colorful patchwork Gabriela Hearst maxi dress.
âIt needed to sell in a second [that] she had access to âthe closet.ââ
But while we canât all steal from the Runway magazineâs fashion stockpile, shopping Rogersâ Macyâs collection just might be the next best thing. Read on for highlights, from Priestly-worthy pantsuits to a Carrie Bradshaw-esque accessory.
Rogers said she could picture these five-pocket pants on Andy Sachs, since theyâre for âa working reporter who needs them.â
Theyâre also perfect for a working costume designer, as Rogers added that she âcanât live without pockets.â
Meanwhile, these bright red heels would be âvery appropriateâ for Miranda Priestly, per Rogers. Thatâs all!
Early bestsellers from the line include this cute duffle featuring NYC-inspired illustrations.
âThis collection is an amalgamation of many beloved ideas from many projects,â Rogers said.
âI love the tiered blue skirt,â the fashion pro told us of this tiered design. âItâs a breezy look for spring and summer.â
Pinstripes for sweats? Now thatâs groundbreaking. Rogers thought it would be a âfun ideaâ to bring the office-ready pattern to cozy clothing, and these cropped balloon pants are the result.
Complete the look with this matching off-the-shoulder top, perfect for adding a little Runway magazine-worthy glamour to your wardrobe.
Accessories are going to the birds. Rogers made headlines when she styled Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) with a JW Anderson pigeon purse for âAnd Just Like Thatâ in 2022. Now, she says the city-dwelling bird is her âmascotâ for this collection.
