The one where Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid go their separate ways.
After more than a decade together, the former flames have allegedly called it quits, per Daily Mail.
According to the outlet, Cox, 62, and McDaid, 49, amicably split late last year. Pals of their pair shared that the breakup wasnât âugly,â but that the duo was living âdifferent lives.â
One friend told Daily Mail, âJohnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much.â
Page Six reached out to a rep for Cox for comment.
The Snow Patrol musician and âFriendsâ star first met at a house party hosted by the latter in 2013.
âI remember seeing Johnny and going, âOh, wow. Heâs really intense.â Heâs got the eyes, and heâs playing the piano,â Cox said.
âAnd I thought âOh heâs really really handsome,ââ Cox recounted while on âThe Howard Stern Showâ in 2022.
By 2014, the Northern Irish singer popped the question to the âCougar Townâ alum.
âIâm engaged to him!â Cox tweeted beneath a selfie at the time.
Several months later, in 2015, McDaid told People, âI just want to be with this woman for the rest of my life. That is all that matters. The ceremonies are academic.â
However, by December 2015, Page Six had confirmed that the lovebirds called off their engagement.
At the time, a source told People, âTheyâve been having problems for a long time.â
Cox and McDaid ended up reconciling in 2016, with the actress explaining that their romance felt âdifferentâ the second time around.
âWe were engaged for over a year and then we broke up,â Cox said while on âRunning Wild with Bear Gryllsâ that year.
âHeâs from Ireland. And the way he regards love is precious. We have to treat it in a different way. Itâs more special â you coddle it,â she expressed.
Cox added she didnât know how to âregard loveâ the same way her partner did.
âI definitely made a lot of mistakes that I see â whether itâs codependency or people-pleasing. I didnât know how to bring it in. It was always external,â she confessed.
âEverythingâs new,â she gushed. âAnd we have both really worked on ourselves on the parts that needed the most attention. And it feels really different.â
Throughout the course of their relationship, Cox admitted she wanted to have a baby with McDaid, telling NewBeauty in 2017, âI could carry someone elseâs egg. I may be one of the older people doing it, but I would love to, with Johnny that is.â
Cox was previously married to David Arquette from 1999 to 2013. The couple share daughter Coco, 22.
The âScreamâ actor, 54, met his second wife, Christina McLarty, 45, in 2011.
