It’s an extra special, celebratory week for Ciara and her family.
On Tuesday, April 28, the “1, 2 Step” singer’s daughter Sienna, who she shares with husband Russell Wilson, rang in her ninth trip around the sun.
In addition to the birthday girl, the couple, who tied the knot in 2016, are also parents to son Win, five, daughter Amora, two, plus Ciara shares son Future, 11, with ex-fiancé Future.
In honor of Sienna’s special day, Ciara took to Instagram and shared a slew of photos of her little girl through the years.
She first shared a selfie featuring Sienna alongside her dad, looking all grown up with perfectly styled braids and braces on her teeth, seemingly working on some homework. Photos followed of Sienna through the years, including as a baby and toddler, as well as alongside her older brother, and even in the music studio with her mom.
“Our sweet SiSi Mama is the big 9!!” Ciara wrote in her caption. “I thank God he gave me a Smart, Sassy, Loving, Confident, and one of a kind daughter in you! My mini me! It is truly a blessing to celebrate you extra big today! Happy birthday our sweet Princess! We love you so much!”
Fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over it, with one writing: “If this baby is 9, time officially flew. Happy bday sweet baby girl!!!” as others followed suit with: “Soooooo precious!!! Happiest Birthday SiSi!!!” and: “She is the perfect beautiful blend of you two,” as well as: “She’s your mini me with a hint of Russ! Happy birthday!!!”
Ciara and Russell met in March 2015 at a University of Wisconsin basketball game when they were introduced by mutual friends, and made their first public appearance together the following month.
Russell opened up about how he knew Ciara was the one while appearing on the podcast I Am Athlete in 2024, revealing how right before they met, he wrote out what his “five non-negotiables” were for a relationship.
They included being with “a woman of faith,” someone who is “faithful” not only to him but to “everything that she’s doing,” independent and with “their own identity,” as well as “a woman [who] was going to love me the way my mom loved my dad on his deathbed when he was at his lowest,” and ultimately a woman who would “tilt the room.”
He met Ciara three days after he wrote out his non-negotiables and “prayed” for them, and further recalled: “I walked in the room and I saw — you know little Future he’s nine months at the time or whatever — he crawls in my lap,” and the realization that “this is going to be my responsibility.”
“I remember leaving that night and God saying to me, ‘Raising this child is going to be your responsibility,'” he added.
