Eva Green was reportedly rushed to the hospital after an accident while filming the third season of Wednesday.
The French actress, best known for playing Daniel Craigâs Bond love interest Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, has joined the smash-hit Netflix series for its upcoming season. However, her first weeks on set took an unexpected turn after she reportedly injured her leg while filming near Dublin.
The 45-year-old was treated in hospital after the incident, with production temporarily halted while she received medical attention.
No further details about the nature of the accident or Evaâs injury have been publicly confirmed, and neither the actress nor Netflix has commented on the report.
The Sun first reported the news. HELLO! contacted Netflix and Evaâs representatives for comment but had not received a response by publication time.
Eva is set to play the mysterious Aunt Ophelia in the upcoming season, a character whose connection to the Addams family is expected to bring a darker new layer to the supernatural drama.
Her casting marks another collaboration with Tim Burton, after the pair worked together on Dark Shadows, Miss Peregrineâs Home for Peculiar Children and Dumbo. Eva has long been known for her flair for gothic roles, making her a natural fit for the shadowy world of Nevermore Academy.
The actress joins an increasingly starry line-up of new additions for season three, including Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey, St Elmoâs Fire star Andrew McCarthy, Ted Lasso actor James Lance and Stranger Things favourite Winona Ryder.
Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan and Kennedy Moyer have also joined the cast, alongside returning stars Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis GuzmĂĄn, Emma Myers and Joanna Lumley.
Wednesday remains one of Netflixâs biggest global successes, with its first season becoming the streamerâs most-watched English-language series. The show follows Jennaâs deadpan teenager Wednesday Addams as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy while uncovering sinister mysteries.
Season two left viewers with plenty of unanswered questions, including the fate of Wednesdayâs best friend Enid and a chilling premonition that put Wednesday herself in danger.
Creators and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have promised that the new season will introduce fresh faces, new teachers and more long-buried Addams family secrets.
âWe welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets,â they said when production began. âDonât say you werenât warned.â
Wednesday Season 3 is currently in production, although Netflix has not yet announced a release date.
