Attention crime thriller fans! Netflix’s latest mystery, The Colors of Evil: Black, has just arrived on the platform, and if you love dark, hard-hitting thrillers, you’re in for a treat. 

The film, a sequel to the 2024 film Colors of Evil: Red, is based on MaƂgorzata Oliwia Sobczak’s bestselling novels about Polish prosecutor Leopold Bilski.

What is The Colors of Evil: Black about? 

The story centres around ambitious prosecutor Leopold Bilski as his investigation into the disappearance of a child leads to the discovery of dark, long-held secrets. 

The official synopsis reads: “Prosecutor Leopold Bilski is transferred to a seemingly peaceful town in Kashubia, where the disappearance of yet another child exposes dark secrets and long‑hidden, uncomfortable truths come to light.

The new film follows the 2024 film, Colors of Evil: Red, which saw Leopold investigate the connection between the murder of a young woman and a decades-old homicide case.

He’s joined by Marianna Zydek as Julia Sarman, Andrzej Chyra as Andrzej Pakosz and Piotr Ć»urawski as Arek Filipiak

What have critics said about the film?

The film has received positive reviews, so far. Heaven of Horror wrote: “It does hit hard and deals with intense and tragic subjects of many kinds. Consider yourself warned, but also, do watch it on Netflix now.”
