Ben Affleckâs eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, looked just like her mother, Jennifer Garner, as she stepped out with the actress for a lunch date on Thursday.
While Jennifer rocked a dark-wash denim skirt and a red patterned blouse with black sandals and sunglasses, her 20-year-old daughter looked laid back in a printed maxi dress and sneakers, paired with a bright blue handbag.
Violet stood taller than her mother as they headed out for lunch, and wore a bright smile on her face, clearly enjoying the quality time.
Jennifer was married to Ben from 2005 until 2015, when they went their separate ways. The pair, who share Violet, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 13, remained close friends in the wake of their divorce for the sake of their children.
Saying goodbye to grandma Chris
It has been a tough couple of months for Violet and her siblings, after their beloved grandmother, Chris Affleck, passed away in early June aged 83.
As per her obituary in The Boston Globe, Chrisâ grandchildren were âthe animating force of her last two decades,â and she âwas suitably proud of her descendantsâ achievements, but she was delighted when they questioned, defied, or cleverly engaged authority.â
Violet undoubtedly inherited her passion for social justice from her grandmother, who worked as a public school teacher for more than three decades.
Chris protested the Vietnam War in the â60s, organized with the Alliance for Water Justice in Palestine, and joined the campaign trail for Barack Obama in 2008.
The obituary continued: âIn her beloved Truro, she was a founding board member of the Sustainable Cape project. When her granddaughterâs student activist group needed a space for trainings, she invited them to Truro and attended every single workshop herself, taking notes.â
Violetâs fierce activism revealed
Violet is a fierce activist just like Chris, and even addressed the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025, advocating for mask mandates in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
âIt is a neglect of the highest order to look children in the eyes and say, âWe knew how to protect you, and we didnât do it. We have access to a technology to prevent airborne disease, something that millions of our ancestors and millions of people around the world today would kill for, and we refuse to use it,'â she said in her speech.
Speaking out against the paparazzi
Jennifer shared with The Hollywood Reporter that Violetâs strong sense of justice was present even in childhood, and recounted how her daughter stood up to the paparazzi who were hounding the young family.
âVioletâs hyper-articulate â she is Ben Affleckâs daughter,â the 13 Going On 30 star recalled.
âAnd she stood up on a chair in a little velvet dress, with her hair a bit back and her glasses on, and she didnât say her Rs right, and she said: âWe didnât ask for this. We donât want these cameras; theyâre scary. The men are scary, they knock each other over, and itâs hard to feel like a kid when youâre being chased.'â
