Amy Schumer got candid about her health on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, sharing how she was feeling in the wake of her January divorce from her husband, Chris Fischer.Ā The 44-year-old revealed that she felt āhappier than Iāve ever been,ā before the podcast host, Amanda Hirsch, commented on her 50-lb weight loss and glowing visage.Ā
āI actually had, kind of, a botched colonoscopy, so Iām not feeling very sexual,ā Amy countered, referring to the medical procedure where a doctor examines the large intestines for blockages, cancer, ulcers or other issues with a microscopic camera.Ā
The comedienne did not go into detail about the ābotchedā procedure, but has been incredibly open in the past about her health issues, including her diagnosis of Cushing syndrome.Ā
The syndrome occurs when the body has too much cortisol for too long, and can lead to weight gain, high blood pressure, fatigue, and even death in extreme cases.Ā Ā āI was getting these steroid injections, and so it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldnāt have known if the internet hadnāt come for me so hard,ā Amy explained on theĀ Call Her Daddy podcast.Ā
āI learned that I had something called āmoon face,ā and Iām starring in a movie, and thereās a camera in my face, and Iām like, āOh, my God.ā I was feeling really down on myself before I started filming this movie.ā
Amy also suffers from endometriosis, a chronic condition that occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside of it, causing extreme pain, scarring, inflammation, and even infertility.Ā
āI have been working to be pain-free, and I finally am,ā she wrote in a November post on Instagram. āMy endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome, so my face went back to normal. I am grateful to be strong and healthy, especially for my son. Iām proud of how Iāve looked always.ā
