A new season of 90 Day Fiancé means new couples and new OMG moments.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek of the Sunday, May 10, season premiere, viewers are introduced to Marissa, who is quick to kiss and tell about her fiancé, Edward.
“He got his body ready. Did I tell you about that? He’s going to kill me for telling you,” Marissa, 45, tells her colleagues Caitlin and Dorothy. “He decided that before he came to the United States, he wanted to get an adult circumcision.”
While visiting the Dominican Republic, Marissa crossed paths with the charming hotel concierge member. A romance soon blossomed, and now, Edward, 32, is preparing to meet his fiancée for the first time in the United States.
“I don’t know if he’s freaking out or if I’m more freaking out,” she shares ahead of their reunion. “I have to teach him everything.”
While Marissa’s emotions are more than normal, Edward’s decision to get circumcised comes as a bit of a surprise.
According to Marissa — who has two sons from a previous relationship — she isn’t sure why her lover chose to undergo the procedure.
“Edward, since the moment I met him, has always been interested in getting his penis circumcised,” she says in a confessional interview. “Maybe subconsciously he thought it was more culturally appropriate here in the United States. Like, what if he goes into a locker room with some men after the gym and you know. Who knows why he does the things that he does. Let’s just say that I’m happy that he did it.”
When gossiping with her coworkers, Marissa reveals another plot twist with the surgery. Warning: This may be TMI even for the most loyal 90 Day fans.
“Everything was fine. He’s in a little bit of pain. A couple days later, when he wakes up in the morning, they expand a lot, and his stitches fell out,” she claims. “So he ripped open his penis. He ripped open his incision so he had to go back to the doctor, get restitched.”
90 Day Fiancé follows overseas couples planning to wed as they arrive in the United States for the very first time. Soon after, they have just 90 days to decide whether to say “I do” or accept a long-distance dynamic.
In between, each couple will navigate culture clashes, family pressure and shocking surprises.
Don’t miss the season premiere of 90 Day Fiancé on TLC Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Stream new episodes the next day on HBO Max.
