The ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ and ‘Hello’ singer might have found meteoric fame with her heartbroken ballads, but she’s just as much a fan of a simply happy occasion.

Adele presided over the wedding of comedian and host Alan Carr, when he tied the knot with his partner Paul Drayton in 2018 – with the pair splitting four years later in 2022.

Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks is a ’70s icon and recently found renewed fame for her intense live performance of ‘Silver Springs’, perfectly capturing the pain and anger of heartbreak.

But she’s just as talented at celebrating true love, becoming an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church to wed her friends Vanessa Carlton and Deer Tick’s John McCauley in 2013.

Forever a Bridesmaids star, Maya Rudolph stepped away from the studio of Lady St. Petsios JuJu to celebrate a real-world wedding that was close to her heart.

She officiated for cousin Sabrina Rudolph’s wedding to Clark Bacon, taking on double duties as maid of honour and officiant at their nightclub-inspired Miami ceremony.

No-one was more surprised to see Dwayne Johnson in the role of wedding officiant than mega-fan and friend Nick Mundy. Following a 2013 interview the pair became friends and The Rock requested Nick interview him at later press junkets.

So Nick was flabbergasted when his booking to interview Dwayne turned out to be a surprise marriage ceremony to fiancée Dilara Karabas.

Not many people can boast a celebrity wedding officiant, but Queen Latifah took it a step further when she officiated for 33 couples at the Grammys in 2014.

Queen Latifah officiated, while Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sang hit track ‘Same Love’, with support from Mary Lambert and Trombone Shorty. Madonna soon arrived through a neon altar with a rendition of ‘Open Your Heart’. 

Happy Days star and Apollo 13 director Ron Howard is a family man through and through, and his daughter Paige’s wedding ceremony only emphasised the Howard family’s tight-knit bond.

With Ron leading proceedings at the altar, Paige’s sister Bryce Dallas Howard took on a role as bridesmaid to watch Paige tie the knot with artist Tim Abou-Nasr in Central Park.

Kim isn’t the only Kardashian to step into the role of wedding officiant and has presided over several celebrity celebrations. She’s officiated the wedding of close friend Faye Resnick at her Calabasas mansion and officiated for Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes at his wedding to Jeff Leatham. 

In 2023, she stepped in for a vow renewal, celebrating Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s renewed commitment. The ceremony was a surprise for Ellen as part of Portia’s 50th birthday celebrations in 2023.
