Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to be stepping up their philanthropic efforts with their recent trip to Australia quickly followed by Prince Harry making an unannounced visit to Ukraine. On Friday, the Duke was quizzed by ITV’s Chris Ship about his role as a non-working royal and he stated that he would always be “part of the royal family”.
Instead of visiting places on behalf of the royal family, as they once did, the now couple now take trips and carry out engagements under the umbrella of their own company, Archewell Philanthropies. “This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavours as a family,” reads their website.
The company has a head office in Beverly Hills, California, however a lot of the work is carried out by Harry and Meghan from the comfort of their Montecito mansion.
Working from home
On an appearance on the Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, Meghan revealed her typical morning routine, including how she heads home to work after the school run. “If I don’t have meetings in the morning, then I try to do school drop off. They’re at two different schools, so that’s a big circuit,” she explained. “So from 6.30 in the morning on drop-off mornings for me, I’m not home till 9. And then after that, I’ll just jump into meetings. And then on other days, then I’ll wake up and get them all set, and then our amazing nanny, who’s been with us for five years, she’ll take them to school.”
Thanks to the couple’s Netflix show and various social media posts, we’ve seen inside their shared office, where they each have a throne-like chair to sit at their laptops. A large wooden desk is the centrepiece of the room and behind the couple’s seats, there are windows which look out to greenery in their garden. The room also has a stone fireplace and a place for their pet pooches to snooze.
Meghan’s well known for her incredible taste and her home office is styled as immaculately as we’d anticipate with beautiful blooms, plants and a crystal – as well as chic magazines acting as a laptop stand.
The rest of Harry and Meghan’s mansion
The Sussexes’ property, named the Chateau of Riven Rock, is very impressive inside and out. Noteworthy features include the family’s outdoor pool, over-water spa room and huge playpark.
The garden appears to be the heart of their home, with many Instagram posts on Meghan’s feed showcasing their idyllic outdoor space. We’ve seen Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet feeding chickens, picking fruit and sourcing roses in the grounds.
