For fans of Meghan Markle, the chance to spend an intimate weekend in her company might sound like a dream. But for those hoping to walk away with the ultimate keepsake, a photo with the Duchess, that dream comes with a surprisingly steep price tag.
Guests attending the highly anticipated âHer Best Lifeâ retreat in Sydney this week are being asked to pay an additional $330 for the opportunity to secure a group photo with Meghan, as part of a premium VIP upgrade.
The three-day event, already being dubbed âMeg-stockâ by attendees, is being held at the five-star InterContinental Coogee Beach hotel from Friday to Sunday, offering a curated blend of luxury, wellness and rare access to the Duchess.
Standard tickets for the retreat start at around $1,780 per person for a twin-share room. However, those opting for the VIP experience, priced at approximately $2,110, will gain access to the sought-after group table photo with Meghan, alongside a private hotel room and an âexclusive VIP goodie bagâ.
The pricing structure has sparked conversation, particularly as the additional cost highlights just how valuable access to Meghan has become since she stepped back from royal life.
Adding to the exclusivity, attendees have been told the weekend will operate under a strict âno phones, no recordingâ policy during Meghanâs interview session, described as a ânon-negotiable security requirementâ. For many, that means the paid group photo could be the only tangible memory of their time with the Duchess.
Organised by Gemma OâNeill, host of the Her Best Life podcast, the retreat is expected to welcome around 300 women for what is being marketed as âthe ultimate girls weekendâ.
The itinerary leans heavily into self-development and connection, with guests promised âa beautiful, relaxing and inspiring weekendâ filled with âinspiring conversations and unforgettable connections with an incredible group of womenâ.
Alongside Meghanâs headline appearance, the schedule includes a âpowerful womenâs sessionâ with renowned therapist Dr Justine Corry, meditation and manifestation workshops, relaxed time by the pool, a gala dinner, and a âdinner and disco celebrationâ.
When announcing Meghanâs involvement, Gemma was full of praise, saying: âI have admired this woman and what she has endured, how sheâs risen above it and how she has demonstrated how a woman can be pushed down and she can still rise.â
She also claimed Meghanâs participation was driven by passion rather than profit, adding: âSheâs doing it because she really loves what our community is about, which is women trying to grow, try to be their best selves and trying to help other women.â
Despite that sentiment, the retreat carries all the hallmarks of a carefully monetised experience. Demand has already proven strong, with organisers initially declaring tickets âexhaustedâ before releasing a limited number of additional rooms earlier this month.
