The Big Lebowski star, 76, looks unrecognizable with silver fox hair transformation

Jeff Bridges had fans doing a double take over the weekend as the Hollywood icon debuted a noticeably different look at the Minions & Monsters premiere in Los Angeles.

The Oscar-winning actor, 76, stepped onto the red carpet sporting a full head of cropped silver hair and a matching beard, completing the relaxed look with a floral Hawaiian shirt layered beneath a pale sage suede jacket, black trousers and grey slip-on sandals.

Known for his signature longer, tousled locks throughout much of his career, Jeff’s brighter shorter silver hair and fuller beard gave him a fresh new look as he posed for photographers at the event, where he voices the head of a Hollywood film studio in the new animated movie.

The laid-back appearance couldn’t have been more fitting for the actor, whose effortless California style has long become part of his appeal.

Jeff recently opened up about why he was keen to join the beloved franchise, revealing the film’s celebration of Hollywood proved irresistible.

“It’s kind of a love letter to movies,” he explained during an interview promoting the film.

The Big Lebowski star also admitted he immediately connected with the playful spirit of the project, describing it as “a lot of fun” and praising the creativity behind the latest instalment of the hugely successful franchise.

Jeff’s latest public appearance comes after several challenging years for the actor.

In 2020, he revealed he had been diagnosed with lymphoma before later contracting COVID-19 while undergoing chemotherapy — an experience he has previously described as making his cancer “look like a piece of cake.”

“I was doing those fight scenes for the first episode of The Old Man and didn’t know that I had a 9-by-12-inch tumor in my body,” he shared with AARP. 

However, his recovery from COVID-19 has been a more challenging experience. The disease struck simultaneously with his cancer treatment, severely testing Jeff’s already compromised immune system. He confessed that his recovery process is still in progress.

He spoke candidly about the incremental process of regaining his strength, recalling, “A lot of getting better was a matter of setting really small goals. 

“At first, they’d say, ‘How long can you stand?’ For a while, my record was 45 seconds before I’d collapse. And then they were saying: ‘Oh, look, you’re standing for a minute! That’s so cool, now can you walk 5 feet?’”

Fortunately, the actor has since confirmed his cancer is in remission and has gradually returned to work, delighting fans with projects including The Old Man and now Minions & Monsters.
