Caroline Kennedy teared up as she broke her silence on her daughter Tatiana Schlossberg’s December 2025 death.

During the author’s speech at the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award ceremony Sunday, the daughter of late President John F. Kennedy gave a shout-out to Schlossberg’s in-laws, the parents of her widower, George Moran.

“This year we even have new family members here. I am so happy to welcome Emma Shriver and Garrett and Mary Moran,” Caroline, 68, said, of George’s mom and dad.

“Most of all, we remember Tatiana who served on the board of this library and represented everything my parents stood for in her beautiful, amazing, and too short life,” she added, while appearing to get choked up.

Schlossberg passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 35. The journalist’s death came one month after she publicly announced her battle with acute myeloid leukemia and said doctors told her she had one year to live.

Schlossberg — who shares son Edwin, 4, and daughter Josephine, 2, with husband George — shared that doctors discovered the disease after she welcomed her second baby in May 2024.
