Tara Reid made a rare public appearance at the Cannes Film Festival premiere after recovering from her alleged hospital stay.
Reid, 50, attended the Histoires De La Nuit screening on Friday, May 22, dressed in a black one-shouldered gown with a white cape.
Nearly six months earlier, Reid claimed she was drugged at a hotel bar in Chicago and, as a result, required hospitalization.
âTara Reid is trying to file a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with. She is cooperating fully with the investigation,â a rep for the actress told Us Weekly in a November 2025 statement. âTara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time.â
The spokesperson continued, âShe also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.â
Police later insisted that there wasnât any evidence, including surveillance footage, to corroborate Reidâs accusations.
âAfter receiving the report alleging her drink being tampered with, Rosemont detectives reviewed surveillance from the hotel which includes video at the hotel bar,â a law enforcement spokesperson told Us in December 2025. âIn addition, multiple interviews have been conducted. While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did [the] video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink. We can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar which is standard practice for bartenders to do.â
Reid, meanwhile, felt âjudgedâ by the authorities and their report.
âIâve been honest about the fact that I donât remember anything after my first drink,â Reid told Us late last year. âAll I said was that I felt something was wrong and that I felt I may have been drugged, because I have no other explanation for why I woke up in a hospital gown with no memory of how I got there.â
Reid further claimed that the incident had been âseverely affectingâ her mental health.
âI feel bullied and judged for something I cannot recall,â she alleged. âIâm trying to heal, but the public scrutiny is making that very difficult, and Iâve been afraid to even leave my house.â
Reid continued, âNo one ends up in the hospital for around eleven hours from drinking wine alone. I hadnât taken any medication that day, and I know something wasnât right. Whether I had additional drinks after that doesnât matter, the fact is I donât remember anything.
