And just like that, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick celebrated 29 years of marriage.
The actress posted a touching tribute to her husband via Instagram on Tuesday, complete with sweet throwback snaps.
âMay 19th, 1997-May 19th, 2026,â the âSex and the Cityâ alum, 61, captioned the social media upload. â29 years. And counting.â
She continued, âHereâs to you my darling. With your favorite band joining me in serenading you. Us. Forever young. Xxx, Your wife Sarah Jessica.â
Parkerâs post included two newspaper snaps of herself and Broderick, 64, framed, as well as a Polaroid of the actor kissing her forehead.
The Emmy winnerâs pal Andy Cohen commented, âAnd they said it wouldnât last!â
Mindy Kaling dubbed the pair âthe only couple ever, really.â
Parker and the âFerris Buellerâs Day Offâ star went on their first date in March 1992, four months after being introduced.
The duo shocked their 100 wedding guests, who believed they were attending a party at Angel Orensanz Synagogue, with a surprise wedding in May 1997.
Parker opted for a black dress at the New York City nuptials because, the Golden Globe winner later told Marie Claire, she was âtoo embarrassed to get married in white.â
In the 2006 interview, she said, âBoth Matthew and I were reluctant to have people pay so much attention to us. Which is ridiculous, because thatâs when you can relish the attention, when itâs natural.â
Parker admitted three years later that sheâd âwhite it upâ if given the chance to tie the knot again.
âIâd wear a beautiful, proper wedding dress like I should have worn that day,â she confessed to âTodayâ show viewers in 2009.
Since the ceremony, the âAnd Just Like Thatâ alum and Broderick have welcomed three children.
Son James, now 23, arrived in 2002, followed by twins Tabitha and Marion, now 16, via surrogate in 2009.
