Rosie O’Donnell shares precious update on newest family member

Rosie O’Donnell was a proud grandmother as she shared a sweet update on her fifth grandchild, Anthony, who was born in March 2026.

The tiny tot was snapped smiling in his cot, with a touch of reddish-brown hair and deep brown eyes. “My beautiful grandson Anthony,” Rosie wrote in the Instagram caption, and her fans couldn’t help but coo over the four-month-old.

“He is PERFECTION,” one fan wrote, while another added: “So cuteeee!” and another chimed in: “He is so gorgeous.” Anthony was born to Rosie’s son, Blake, and his wife Teresa, and has injected the family with much-needed joy ever since.

Rosie recently opened up about being present for her children and grandchildren, despite relocating to Ireland in January 2025. “Watching my 26-year-old son hold his baby is the most indescribable joy that I’ve ever experienced in my life,” she told People. 

“I want to be here for all of it, you know. I really do. I’m very stunned and surprised all the time by the fact that children need their parents through their whole life,” the mother of five continued. “And when you were robbed of that, you don’t know that. I kind of love seeing the fact that my kids still need me.”

“My son said, ‘Mommy, I want you to move back. I want you to be around my baby. I want you to be around us,” she recalled.

“That really hit home because I understand and, you know, the joy that I feel being around him and this newborn… Again, I don’t have the words for it. I get so much fulfilment watching him parent this child that he adores [and] adores him right back. It’s an amazing feeling. Something I never really anticipated.”

Anthony is Rosie’s fifth grandchild; her daughter Chelsea is a mom to kids Skylar Rose, Riley, Avery Lynn and Atlas. Rosie and Chelsea have endured a rocky relationship in the past, after the 28-year-old was sent to prison in 2025 for breaking her parole.

The comedienne shared with Page Six that she visited her daughter in prison and had “the first conversation I’ve had with her in 10 years that lasted more than 25 minutes”.

“The first time that I saw her in a consistent way was the four hours in the prison,” Rosie explained. “And that’s the first time I’ve seen, kind of, an empathetic emotion from her.” The protective mom added that Chelsea had been sober for almost two years after struggling with addiction.

“She was born addicted, and when I was adopting, I thought, ‘Well, love can cure everything,’ but I don’t know that that’s true,” Rosie said. “So, you know, she’s growing up. I hope that her future is brighter than this past decade has been.” Rosie even asked for Chelsea’s input on her one-woman show, which delves into their complicated mother-daughter relationship.
