Richard Gere shares special glimpse inside July 4 celebrations with wife Alejandra and kids

Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva gave fans a glimpse into their 4 July celebrations on Friday.

The actor, 76, and his Spanish wife, 43, spent America’s Independence Day in New York City where they enjoyed a boat ride around Manhattan.

Taking to Instagram, Alejandra shared a snap of the couple alongside their sons, Alexander, seven, and James, six, as their boat went by the Statue of Liberty.

Alejandra also shared a photo of the couple’s sons playing at the beach with a red, white and blue picnic blanket seen in the foreground. She then shared several snaps of a fireworks display the family watched later in the evening.

Alongside the post, she wrote: “Deeply grateful for a life built between two countries, two cultures, and so many people we love.

“Today, we celebrate connection, family, friendship, and everything that reminds us that home is not only a place, but the people we carry in our hearts. Happy Fourth of July to our family and friends across the United States.”

Relocating to the States

After a stint in Spain – the family settled in Madrid in 2024 after several years in the States – the couple decided a few months ago to move back to America.

“It’s been great,” the actor told HELLO! as they closed that particular chapter. “Ale was so happy to be with her family, her friends, and her culture. And the food – all those wonderful things about Spanish culture.”

While they are currently enjoying a quiet, happy family life in the US, they haven’t ruled out a return to Alejandra’s home country. “I wouldn’t rule it out at all,” Alejandra recently told HELLO!’s sister brand ¡HOLA!, describing Spain as “a place we will always come back to.”

Emphasising that she is currently in a very fulfilling stage of life, she made her priorities clear: “Right now, we are very focused on the children and supporting them where they need it most, but Spain will always be in our plans.”

The couple are notoriously private when it comes to their family life, sharing only the occasional photo of their two sons. Richard is also father to Homer, 26, with his ex-wife Carey Lowell and Alejandra is also mother to Albert, 13, with her ex-husband Govind Friedland.
