Reba McEntire’s joyous baby news has fans saying the same thing

Country music icon Reba McEntire has every reason to celebrate, as the star prepares to welcome another grandchild in what has become a deeply emotional and joyful new chapter for her family.

The 71-year-old singer’s son, Shelby Blackstock, has announced that he and his wife Marissa Blackstock are expecting their first child together, sharing the heartwarming news in a series of sun-drenched Instagram photos taken at Disney World.

“Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October,” the couple wrote in their joint post. “See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you!”

The images captured a picture-perfect moment of celebration, with the couple posing in front of Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom, a location that holds special meaning for them after tying the knot there in 2022. 

In one particularly sweet shot, Shelby wraps his arms around Marissa as they beam with excitement, while another shows the pair sharing a kiss as they hold up a strip of sonogram images.

Adding a playful Disney touch to the announcement, they also revealed a tiny white onesie embroidered with a sleeping Mickey Mouse and the words “Blackstock, October 2026,” alongside a sign reading “Baby Blackstock 2026.” 

Matching Mickey Mouse ears and a blue-and-white cake featuring the character’s signature “Oh boy!” catchphrase completed the joyful reveal.

The news comes after a deeply personal journey for the couple. Earlier this year, Marissa opened up about undergoing a second round of IVF treatments, candidly sharing the emotional toll of infertility while expressing gratitude for the support they received.

“Infertility is hard, but we don’t feel alone,” she wrote at the time, in a message that resonated with many.

For Reba, the arrival of Shelby’s son will mark her first biological grandchild, adding another layer of meaning to the milestone.

The singer has long embraced her role as a devoted grandmother figure to the children of her late stepson Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson, who share daughter River and son Remy.

Kelly previously paid tribute to Reba’s warmth and support during the Kennedy Center Honors, describing her as a “really rad grandma” to her children, a sentiment that has only deepened fans’ affection for the beloved star.
