Rafael Nadal has offered fans a rare and intimate glimpse into his private world, sharing a series of sun-drenched family photos from a breathtaking beach getaway in the Exumas.
The tennis legend, who is famously guarded when it comes to his personal life, took to Instagram to post a collection of candid moments featuring his wife and their young children, capturing what he described as “very special days” spent together.
“Recently I spent very special days with my family in Exumas,” he wrote. “A unique place, full of beautiful nature. We are very lucky to enjoy places like this, and it reminds us how important it is to protect them for the future. Always grateful for these moments with my family!”
In the images, Rafa appears relaxed and happy, far removed from the intensity of the court. One standout photo shows his wife, María Francisca Perelló, affectionately known as Xisca, looking radiant in a simple black bikini as she stands in crystal-clear turquoise water, smiling alongside family members.
Another captures the couple playfully embracing in the shallows, with Rafa lifting his wife as she throws her arms into the air, a rare display of carefree joy from the usually reserved sports star.
The series also includes heartwarming moments with their children, whose faces are kept private. In one shot, Rafa crouches beside them on a boat after what appears to be a successful fishing outing, while another shows the family gathered together in the water, laughing and holding the little ones close.
A wider group image reveals a larger family gathering, with multiple generations coming together on the pristine white sands, highlighting the importance of family in Rafa’s life.
The setting itself is nothing short of spectacular. The Exumas, known for their powdery beaches and impossibly clear waters, provide the perfect backdrop for the deeply personal snapshots, a world away from the stadiums and spotlight that have defined Rafa’s career.
While the 22-time Grand Slam champion has built a legacy as one of the greatest athletes of all time, these images offer a different perspective: a devoted husband and father, cherishing quiet, meaningful moments.
Rafa and Maria are proud parents eldest son Rafa Jnr and six-month-old Miquel, whom they welcomed in August last year.
Rafa, who officially retired from tennis in November 2024, played his last professional match in the Davis Cup Final in Malaga. A month prior, the 39-year-old had released a video statement, confirming that he would be stepping away from the sport. “Hello everyone, I’m here to let you know that I am retiring from professional tennis. The reality is that it has been some difficult years, these last two especially,” Rafa said in October 2024.
