Princess Zahra twins with glamorous Brunei royal mother in tiny frill dress

Princess Anish Rosnah and her husband Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei marked four months as parents by sharing adorable family photos with their daughter Princess Zahra.

Taking the opportunity to twin with her little girl, Anisha wore a Hill House dress with a pink floral print, while Zahra was dressed in the mini version from the same designer, as reported by Royal Fashion Police.

The ‘Ellie Nap’ dress features an A-line silhouette, ruffled shoulders, a smocked bodice and a tiered midi skirt. The floral design, which the brand says was “inspired by 17th-century French textiles and delicate garden trellises”, also comes in white, green and blue colourways.

Four-month-old Zahra sported the same pink whimsical design, as well as matching ruffles. She looked so cute with her mop of dark hair as she gazed at the camera, with her parents smiling on either side as they posed inside their private home.

The couple wed in 2024 in an extravagant ten-day celebration, which included a ceremony at the Sultan’s official residence, Istana Nurul Iman, in Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The 34-year-old son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his former wife, Puan Hajah Mariam binti Abdul Aziz, announced he was expecting his first baby with his wife in October 2025, and Anisha gave birth to their little girl on 8 February 2026.

The news of Zahra’s birth was released via the Bruneian news channel, RTB News. A message posted on RTB’s official Instagram read: “In compliance with the orders of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Office of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, hereby announces that His Royal Highness Princess Anisha Rosnah binti Adam, wife of His Royal Highness Prince Muda ‘Abdul Mateen ibni His Royal Highness Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, with the permission of Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala, has safely given birth to a daughter on Sunday, 20th, Syaaban, 1447 corresponding to 8th, February, 2026, at 8.50 am.”

It added: “Following this release, 17 cannon shots were fired in the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman.”

Three days later, proud father Prince Mateen shared his daughter’s name on Instagram, writing: “Zahra Mariam Bolkiah. Anisha & I are so grateful to the incredible team at JPMC for their exceptional care and support, and so thankful to everyone for the kind wishes.”  

Proudly stepping into his new role as a father, Mateen, who was appointed as Foreign Minister in June, has been pictured kissing his daughter on the head and cradling her as she slept.
