Prince William will reportedly keep a close eye on his estranged brother, Prince Harry, after the latter unexpectedly moved back to the UK.
âWilliam will be watching his brother very closely and trying to work out what his game plan is,â Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, told Us Weekly in an interview published Wednesday.
Harrold believes William is still upset over Harryâs bombshell allegations about their relationship exposed in the latterâs 2023 memoir, âSpare.â âI donât believe heâs happy Harry is back in the UK at all.â
A source told the outlet that the brothersâ ârelationship was already broken,â explaining, âThe move doesnât break it again [but] it does put the break in the same country.â
The insider shared that the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, returning to the UK is a âshockâ to William and Princess Kate Middleton, both 44.
âTheyâre still processing it, but their initial surprise has evolved, and theyâre taking a wait-and-see approach,â they said.
As for a potential reunion between William and Harry, the source isnât betting on whether it will happen anytime soon.
âNo oneâs booking a table for two for William and Harry,â the insider claimed. âEveryone wants a reunion story, but itâs not something thatâs in the cards.â
If a reunion occurs in the future, the insider believes it âwill be a slow and private process,â and on the Prince of Walesâ terms.
A rep for Harry and William wasnât immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Last month, Page Six confirmed that Harry, 41, and Markle, 45, along with their kids â Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 â were moving back to the UK for âan extended period.â The family wasted no time in packing their bags and landed in London one week later.
An insider told us the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to be closer to King Charles III as he continues to battle cancer.
However, the couple is in England as âprivate citizens with commercial and charitable interestsâ and not working royals, a palace office told the BBC Monday.
The âSuitsâ alum and Harry are living in a non-royal residence and are reportedly looking for a home in the Cotswolds. As for their kids, they enrolled in a prep school.
The duo notably quit their royal duties in 2020 and relocated from the UK to Montecito, California.
Since then, theyâve spoken out about the royal family in their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and in Harryâs âSpareâ memoir.
