The King of Pop is back.
âMichaelâ returned to the top of the box office after moonwalking down a step last week.
The Michael Jackson biopic was in the No. 1 spot Friday, its fourth in theaters, with sales of $7 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
The movie, which The Post called âpainfully bad,â has brought Jacksonâs music back onto the Billboard charts, according to NPR.
His 1982 album âThrillerâ returned to the Billboard 200 at No. 7, and the hit 1983 song âBillie Jeanâ reentered the Hot 100 singles chart at No. 38.Â
In second place was âObsession,â which earned $6.89 million on its opener Friday.
The horror flick, which Yahoo said had a âsuperbly orchestrated blending of dread, jump scares and dark comedy,â centers around a man wishing on a toy that his lifelong female friend falls in love with him.
âThe Devil Wears Prada 2â moved down a notch to third, taking in $5.3 million on its third Friday in theaters.
The sequel to the 2006 comedy â which had a reported production budget of $100 million â has already made over $450 million globally.
In fourth was âMortal Kombat II,â a steep decline from its No. 1 spot last Friday, its opener, with $3.65 million in revenue.
Several months before the fantasy sequel even premiered, Warner Bros. had already greenlit âMortal Kombat III,â according to Forbes.
In fifth was âThe Sheep Detectives,â the mystery comedy starring Hugh Jackman, with just over a $2.4 million take.
