Meet Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck’s two children — including lookalike musician son who starred in a hit 1990s thriller

Tom Selleck is an Emmy Award-winning actor best known for his role in Magnum, P.I., where he played private investigator Thomas Magnum in the 1980s TV show. Other major titles include playing Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the long-running series Blue Bloods and playing Monica’s long-term boyfriend, Richard, in Friends.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Martha Jagger, a housewife, and Robert Selleck, a real estate investor and executive. 

Although Kevin is not Tom’s biological son, he appears to have followed in his footsteps in forging a glittering career. Tom adopted the 60-year-old in August 1987 while he was married to Kevin’s mother, Jacqueline Ray.

Kevin is best known his role in Scream 2 (1997) and also appeared alongside his father in Magnum, P.I. (1980). Little is known about his private life, but he is now believed to be enjoying a normal life with his wife, Annabel Selleck, and their six children.

Hannah Margaret Selleck was born on December 16, 1988, and grew up on her parents’ avocado ranch in Ventura County, California. 

She fell in love with horses at a young age, spending much of her early years learning to ride. 

Hannah went on to become an accomplished equestrian. In 2023, she said: “I started riding when I was four years old. I grew up on a ranch and was lucky to have some lovely ranch horses. My dad knew how to ride; he had learned to ride for Western movies. He is a good horseman.”

She attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles from 2007 to 2011, and graduated with a degree in communication studies.

Tom Selleck has been married to Jillie Mack for nearly four decades.

The couple met at the height of Tom’s fame while she was performing in the musical Cats. Jillie was an English West End dancer, whom Tom fell in love with and ended up watching the show a further eight times.

They married in 1987, soon after he quit filming Magnum, P.I. to focus on building their family.

“I’m a fairly private person,” he told People in 2020. “And I’ve always treasured the balance between work and time with my family. It’s always about them.”

He did return to acting but kept a focus on his wife and children. 

Tom landed his breakout role in the TV series Magnum, P.I. in 1980, playing the charismatic private investigator Thomas Magnum. The show was highly successful and ran for eight seasons from 1980 to 1988. 

In 2025, the Emmy-winning actor signed on with United Talent Agency, which represents some of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry, including Johnny Depp, Sigourney Weaver, Michael J. Fox, Elliot Page, Seth Rogen, Monica Barbaro, Jim Carrey, and many more.

The news may mean he could be taking on a few more roles following a career break. Outside of his leading role in Magnum P.I., Tom also had a recurring role as Dr. Richard Burke on Friends, as well as box-office successes like 1987’s Three Men and a Baby.

He now lives on a quiet Californian ranch with his wife, Jillie.
