LeAnn Rimes has struggled with multiple health issues over the years.

The country singer was diagnosed with psoriasis when she was 2 years old. She has since treated the skin condition with several methods, including medications, creams, shots and more.

Rimes also has had issues with her teeth. She previously got veneers but they weren’t put in properly, leading to multiple surgeries and root canals. Rimes’ teeth problems worsened in June 2025 when she experienced her teeth falling out while performing at a concert.

The following year, Rimes made headlines after undergoing a “deep jaw release” to clear out any lingering tension in her body.

LeAnn Rimes burst onto the music scene when she was just 8 years old, and she’s been wowing fans — and Us — ever since. The “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” singer is Us Weekly’s woman crush because, after competing on Star Search in 1991 as a kid she hasn’t lost her fighting spirit. Since that […]

LeAnn Rimes’ Struggle With Psoriasis

LeAnn Rimes has battled psoriasis since she was a young child and tried every option to help sooth the skin condition

“I tried everything I could to treat it: steroid creams, major medications — I even tried being wrapped in coal tar with Saran Wrap,” she said in a 2020 interview with Glamour. “And when I was in public, I did everything I could to hide it. Onstage I’d often wear two pairs of pantyhose or jeans — even in 95-degree heat. Underneath my shirt, my whole stomach would be covered in thick scales that would hurt and bleed. For so much of my life, I felt like I had to hide.”

LeAnn Rimes Endured Vocal Cord Bleeding

LeAnn Rimes had to cancel several of her concerts due to a vocal cord issue.

“While sick with the flu, my doctor discovered a bleed on my vocal cord, caused by the violent cough that came along with being sick,” she wrote via Instagram in December 2022. “I am getting better, but I am unable to talk or sing … doctor’s orders!”

LeAnn Rimes Underwent Surgery to Remove Precancerous Cells

At the start of the New Year, LeAnn Rimes opened up about undergoing a “minor surgery” after her annual pap smear results came back “abnormal.”

“I’ve had abnormal paps since I was 17 and through regular pap smears and colposcopies, my doctors have been keeping an eye on any cellular changes that could be taking place. After my latest abnormal pap smear and colposcopy revealed that I had high grade cervical dysplasia,” she wrote via Instagram in January 2024. “I consulted with my doctor and we jointly decided that a LEEP procedure would be in my best interest, in order to remove the high grade, abnormal, pre-cancerous cells.”

Rimes advocated for everyone to get their annual checkups for preventive care.

“Early stages of cervical cancer don’t usually involve symptoms, so annual screenings and early detection can be lifesaving,” she continued. “And I believe, the more shares and conversations we have around women’s wellness, the more we take the ewww factor out of talking about vaginas and put the power back in our hands, to be able to take the best care of our bodies that we can.”

LeAnn Rimes’ Teeth and Veneers Issues

After going viral for her teeth falling out on stage, LeAnn Rimes opened up about how her dental issues began after getting veneers as a teen.

“I look at my pictures from that time, and my face was so different — it was just so swollen,” she said in a July 2025 interview with Flow Space. “Oh, it was awful. I was in chronic pain for, like, two-and-a-half years.”

LeAnn Rimes Has Plasma Exchange Surgery

LeAnn Rimes took to social media to share that she did a plasma exchange surgery which could “clear micro-toxins” in addition to getting “stem cells to encourage overall repair.”

“I’ve always been passionate about health and open conversations around it, and I know when I share these experiences it often sparks a lot of curiosity and thoughtful questions. My hope is simply to inform and continue the dialogue around what healing can look like,” she shared in a January 2026 Instagram video. “I also want to say this with care [since] I’m very aware that access to treatments like this isn’t universal. I share with sensitivity and humility, not as a prescription, but as information about what’s been working for me.”

LeAnn Rimes’ Jaw Release Session

In March 2026, LeAnn Rimes shared a clip via social media of her going through a “deep jaw release” session. In the video, the musician could be seen getting emotional as the highly intense method cleared out lingering tension in her body.

LeAnn Rimes’ Serious Illness

Rimes announced in April 2026 about how she was “truly heartbroken” after she was forced to cancel upcoming concerts for unidentified health reasons.

“Due to severe illness, I am unable to travel & perform this week,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’m sorry to share that the upcoming shows in Spokane and Seattle will be rescheduled. Also, good news as we will be seeing you very soon.”
