Lady Louise Windsor is still receiving congratulations after graduating from the University of St Andrews earlier this week.

The young royal, 22, was photographed at University House beside her parents, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, after officially completing her studies in English and International Relations – and everyone was soon saying the same thing.

While some noted her close resemblance to her parents, others were struck by her very close resemblance to her late grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in 2022.

One HELLO! commenter noted that “Louise is the late Queen’s double!!”, while another added: “She looks like our late Queen.”

One person told Louise: “Your grandparents would have been proud of you.”

Lady Louise Windsor’s close relationship with Queen Elizabeth

Lady Louise was the late Queen’s youngest granddaughter, and they shared a close bond.

Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, previously told HELLO!: “There was a bit of an age difference between Louise and her older cousins, and in her early years, she had various health problems.

“The very essence of her birth wasn’t particularly straightforward; she had a rather fragile start in life, and that would clearly have been a great concern to her grandparents.

“So, I think she was very much treasured by both the Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh.”

Lady Louise is also particularly keen on carriage driving, like her late grandfather, Prince Philip.

At university, she was said to have “fallen in love” with army cadets, leading some to speculate that she might one day pursue a career in the military.

The Queen joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1945, becoming the first female member of the royal family to join the Armed Services as a full-time active member.

What are Lady Louise’s future plans after graduating?

King Charles’s niece is not expected to become a full-time working royal in the future.

It is understood she will now be taking a gap year, working, volunteering, and travelling.

It’s unknown what her career plans will be afterwards, but HELLO! understands she’s expected to pursue a career privately.

Lady Louise, who is 17th in line to the throne, has reportedly said on her LinkedIn page that she’s interested in pursuing a career in “the military, diplomacy or law”.

On Friday, Lady Louise received her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award from none other than her father, Prince Edward, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

After speaking about the bronze, silver and gold DofE awards, Edward turned and pointed to his daughter, saying: “We’ve got someone else who’s actually done all three.” “Just about!” she joked.
