Kelly Clarkson opened up recently about her love life during a performance of her Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Friday, July 24 2026.
The 44-year-old candidly revealed that watching other peopleâs relationships has not exactly inspired her to start dating again.
âPeople are like, âOh, why are you single?â And Iâm like, âFirst of all, there are a lot of people out here making single look real good,'â Kelly told the crowd, according to footage shared on social media.
Explaining her candid remark, she continued: âYou see relationships and youâre like, âI am so glad Iâm going home alone.'â She then jokingly added: âYou know whatâs not happening in my house? That s**t.â
The American Idol winner went on to acknowledge that maintaining a long-term relationship takes work, particularly when couples become caught up in the routines of everyday life.
âIf you are in a relationship, the hardest part, I feel like, is just keeping that fire alive and still dating,â she said. âAnd, like, still making it feel magical and not monotonous.â
Kelly has largely kept her romantic life private since finalising her divorce from talent manager Brandon Blackstock in 2022. The former couple, who separated in 2020, shared daughter River Rose, 12, and son Remington, 10.
Brandon died at his Montana home in August 2025 at the age of 48 following a private battle with melanoma. His family said at the time that he had fought cancer for more than three years and was surrounded by loved ones when he died.
The âBecause of Youâ singer has since prioritised spending time with her children, announcing in February that the seventh season of The Kelly Clarkson Show would be its last.
In a statement, Kelly described stepping away from the daytime series as a difficult decision but said it felt ânecessary and rightâ for the next chapter of her familyâs life.
She also thanked the showâs band, crew, guests and viewers for supporting her throughout its seven-season run.
Kelly previously addressed the challenges of finding love in the public eye during a Las Vegas performance in July 2025.
âDating can be very difficult, which is why I donât,â she told the audience, adding that dating could become a âdumpster fireâ when combined with the pressures of fame.
While romance may not be at the top of her agenda, Kelly has returned her focus to music. Her new single, âIâd Be Lyinâ, was released on July 17, with the star performing the track during her latest Studio Sessions shows in Las Vegas.
