The Princess of Wales was a picture of quiet elegance on Thursday as she stepped out at The Salvador Allende pre-school during her two-day royal trip to Italy.
Perfectly dressed for the Italian spring, Kate, 44, was seen wearing an off-white pleated midi dress with a crew neckline and a more fitted bodice to create a classic A-line silhouette. To add structure and for added warmth (the current temperature in Reggio Emilia is 16 degrees Celsius), the wife of Prince William added a stone-hued pinstripe blazer by Blazé Milano.

The true star of the show was her shoes. Though she chose a short block heel for practicality’s sake, she exuded chic with her choice in Chanel-style capped-toe shoes with a buckle-adorned slingback strap. They were the £195 ‘Alicia’ flats by Camilla Elphick, which she wore previously to the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup at Guards Polo Club at Flemish Farm in 2022.

The princess has worn capped shoes, which are a staple feature of vintage dressing, on previous occasions – and they suit her so well. Her Alessandra Rich style, worn to the opening of Hope Street residential community in 2023, is perhaps her best.

It comes after Kate made her arrival in Italy on 13 May. She arrived at the Piazza Camillo Prampolini, where she was welcomed to the city at Reggio Emilia’s Town Hall to the sound of cheers from onlookers.
She put a spring twist on workwear chic, stepping out in a laguna blue blazer, the ‘Lola’ jacket from Edeline Lee, which featured cinched detailing at the back and a single-breasted button arrangement.
It was paired with the matching ‘Averill’ trousers, which came in a wide-leg cut, and it was paired, rather unusually for Kate, with a bodysuit. The ‘Cupro Shirt Bodysuit’ from Holland Cooper, as identified by Royal Fashion Police on Instagram, came in a wrap design and featured gold buttons on the cuffs.
As per usual, the princess accessorised to perfection. She chose the ‘Celia’ tan pumps by Ralph Lauren and debuted a new bag, the powder blue ‘167 Mini Handbag’ from Asprey London. Her delicate jewels tied the look together nicely.

She chose Monica Vinader’s ‘Vintage Chain Pearl Necklace’, as well as Asprey’s ‘Woodland Charms Necklace’ with an oak leaf and a mushroom charm. It added a sweet ethereal touch to her structured power suit.
