Not so charmed.
Kaley Cuoco claimed Rose McGowan snubbed her on the set of âCharmedâ 20 years ago.
The âBig Bang Theoryâ alum, 40, detailed her âterrifyingâ experience joining the WB fantasy drama in 2005 â and the not-so-warm welcome she received from McGowan â during a recent episode of Dax Shepardâs âArmchair Expertâ podcast.
âYou know when you do so many things and you just forget about terrible moments?â Cuoco began. âImagine this: Iâve never met anyone. Itâs their gallery shoot.â
She continued, âIâm the new girl. Youâve got Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs. Iâve never met them. Think about that. Iâm joining their family photo, and Iâm 21.â
Although the castâs gallery shoot went off without a hitch, Cuoco claimed that things got âdiceyâ once the co-stars took a break for lunch.
âI walk in that gallery, and I am so freaking nervous,â she explained. âItâs on their lunch break. Theyâre all in the corners eating.â
Cuoco continued, âI walk in, Alyssa Milano sees me, and â I will always tell this story about her â she got up, ran over to me, and welcomed me to the show, gave me the biggest hug in the world, so happy, so kind. I will never forget that.â
But McGowan, 52, was not nearly as thrilled to have Cuoco join the hit show, according to the â8 Simple Rulesâ alum.
âRose [was] maybe not as happy. I donât know,â Cuoco said. âI still donât know if she likes me. I donât know. But Alyssa was amazing. I was terrified. Itâs a weird thing coming into a show with them in year eight, and I only did the one season.â
A rep for McGowan did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs request for comment.
âCharmedâ premiered on the WB in October 1998. Milano, 53, and Combs, 52, starred as magical sisters Phoebe and Piper Halliwell alongside Shannen Dohertyâs Prue Halliwell.
Doherty, however, abruptly left the series at the end of Season 3 in May 2001 following rumors of on-set problems with Milano.
McGowan ultimately joined as Paige Matthews for Season 4 to fill the void left behind by Dohertyâs departure. Doherty sadly passed away following a lengthy battle with breast cancer in July 2024. She was 53.
As for Cuoco, she joined âCharmedâ as Billie Jenkins in 2005 for the showâs eighth and final season.
The âVanishedâ star seemed to hint at her and McGowanâs frosty âCharmedâ dynamic further during an interview with the Independent published Saturday.
âI came into âCharmedâ really not thinking anything other than I got this cool job,â she told the outlet. âIt was intense and difficult.â
Cuoco added, âThere were a few people on that show that were wonderful to me, and there were a few people that werenât. I remember them both very clearly.â
