Julia Roberts joined by entire family to celebrate with niece Emma Roberts at her Idaho wedding

Emma Roberts is officially married!

The actress, 35, tied the knot with her fiancé, actor Cody John, on Saturday, July 25 on the latter’s family estate in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Pictures from the intimate outdoor wedding ceremony, shared by Page Six, captured the couple’s sunny nuptials, which were attended by close family and friends, including Julia Roberts.

Julia, 58, is Emma’s aunt and one of her first inspirations for taking up acting as a profession. Emma is the daughter of Kelly Cunningham and actor Eric Roberts, Julia’s older brother.

The Pretty Woman star attended the ceremony with her husband Danny Moder, with snaps capturing the proud aunt and uncle beaming from their seats after the ceremony.

Also captured in attendance were Julia and Danny’s three kids, Phinnaeus, Hazel and Henry Moder. Julia and her daughter twinned in semi-sheer polka dot dresses with voluminous sleeves. Danny and his two sons opted for sleek suits in different colors.

All of the guests were also pictured holding delicate white parasols to block the heat. The groom, Cody, an actor as well boasting credits like In the Dark and Wu-Tang: An American Saga, wore a chocolate brown suit for the ceremony.

Emma, for her part, wore a Grecian-style Monique Lhuillier custom gown, per Vogue, with a lace shawl that came off for a sleeveless fit. She paired the airy white gown with a long white veil that also covered her eyes. Her five-year-old son Rhodes was the one who walked her down the aisle.

Emma was first in an on-and-off relationship for several years with her American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters. She then dated musician Garrett Hedlund for three years, with whom she welcomed her son Rhodes. In 2022, she debuted her romance with Cody, and the pair announced their engagement in July 2024.

Speaking with Vogue about the dress, the Scream Queens actress explained: “I didn’t really know what I wanted. I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired.”

“I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress,” she noted, emphasizing: “I kind of wanted to look like a ghost – a little antique ghost doll.”

Monique Lhuillier also provided a second look for the actress, this time an archival piece from a 2004 collection, a black lace floor-length dress with a sheer corset top, perfect for dancing the night away at the after party.

“I love the idea of wearing black for the after party,” Emma gushed at her final fitting. “We love doing something that’s a little unexpected. This looks like it could be totally vintage from 100 years ago, or from now. This is going to be so fun in Idaho at the after party.”

The We’re the Millers star noted that she felt like an “elfin fairy” when she first tried on the dress. The designer explained that all in all, the custom wedding gown took “nine months to make, and I would say it took close to 1000 hours to complete.”
