Julia Roberts enjoyed a rare outing with her husband of 23 years, Danny Moder, in New York City over the weekend, with the pair supporting her former co-stars, Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle, in the Broadway play Proof.
The Pretty Woman star looked chic in a black coat that was cinched in at the waist, and added a green cross-body bag and black sunglasses to complete the look.
She wore her iconic red tresses down in stylish waves, and she walked arm-in-arm with Danny, a cinematographer known for his work on Point Break, Mr and Mrs Smith and Deja Vu.
Danny wore a tan jacket and light green pants to the show, in which Ayo and Don star as a father-daughter duo who are forced to grapple with family secrets.
Julia and Danny first met on the set of The Mexican in 2000, when he was married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg, and she was in a relationship with actor Benjamin Bratt. The pair started dating after they had each broken it off with their respective partners, and went on to tie the knot in July 2002.
Together, Julia and Danny welcomed twins Hazel and Phinnaeus in November 2004, followed by their son Henry in June 2007. The 58-year-old shared with CBS Sunday Morning that Danny is the standard of man that she hoped her daughter would find someday.
“The first letter he ever wrote me, which was seven pages long, I still have it tucked away. One day I’ll show it to Hazel and say, ‘That’s what you’re looking for,'” she explained. “The life that I’ve built with my husband. The life that we’ve built with our children…that’s the best stuff, to come home at the end of the day triumphantly to them.”

Julia previously spoke about the profound impact Danny had on her life and shared how he gave her room to grow. “Getting married to Danny is easily one of three turning points [in my life], because I found what for me is my perfect match…I give Danny a lot of credit,” she told The Sun.
“He really shined the light for me. He makes me feel my most comfortable self. I don’t alter myself in any way. And he points out aspects of myself – good and bad – that maybe I don’t pay attention to.”
As for the secret to their 23-year marriage, Julia revealed on The Jess Cagle Show that it was to “never stop kissing…two bathroom sinks and lots of kissing.”
The mother of three celebrated her husband’s birthday in February with a photo of the pair sharing a tight hug inside their home. “My fav day. My fav man,” she captioned the snap.
The couple also celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in July 2025 with another Instagram tribute that read: “23 years is SILVER…here we are in my engraved SPOON! The fun continues…and a happy 4th to all.”
