Joe Farrell’s son sued for $7 million after accident

The 21-year-old son of celebrity Hamptons builder Joe Farrell is facing a $7 million lawsuit after allegedly driving over a man on a Bridgehampton beach, breaking his bones, Page Six has exclusively learned. 

On August 18, according to legal documents, Jack Farrell was driving a Farrell Building pickup truck on West Cameron Scott beach at 5 p.m. while “looking at the lifeguard when he inadvertently ran over a beachgoer that was lying in the sand.” 

According to the victim, “when he opened his eyes he saw the undercarriage” of the truck “as it drove over him.”

A witness told the responding officer that Farrell allegedly nearly hit another person who was “lying in the same area.”

A lawyer for Farrell Building had no comment.

According to Southampton Town Regulations, it is unlawful to drive on the beach at that time of day.

On September 18, the man who was allegedly hit, Pablo Ibanez Fernandez, 31, and his brother Alberto Fernandez, who narrowly escaped being run over, filed suit in the Eastern District of New York against Jack and Farrell Building. 

They are both residents of Spain, and they’re seeking a total of $7 million.

According to court papers, Pablo “has sustained fractures,” and “suffered serious permanent personal injuries.” 

It also claims that he’s out of pocket for medical care and “loss of wages.”

His brother Alberto says he “has been caused emotional harm and mental distress.”

According to the papers, Pablo is seeking “$3,000,000 in compensatory damages and $3,000,000 in punitive damages.”  Alberto is asking for $1,000,000, “together with interest, costs, and disbursements of this action.”

They are seeking a jury trial.

Farrell Building has made its name constructing sprawling luxury homes — often dubbed “McMansions” — across the Hamptons. As of 2023, the company’s portfolio was reportedly valued at around $3 billion, with more than 400 luxury homes scooped up by the likes of Madonna, Kelly Ripa, Rudy Giuliani, Kelsey Grammer and Woody Johnson.

His famed former estate in Bridgehampton, known as “Sandcastle,” was rented by Jay-Z and Beyoncé and Justin Bieber.

He held a fundraiser there for Donald Trump in 2019 that raised over $4 million and drew Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Donald Trump Jr. and his then girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The mansion, which boasts a golf simulator, DJ booth, a half-pipe for skateboarders, spa, tennis court and baseball field sold in 2021 for $31 million.

In 2023, he closed on a deal inside the storied Palm Beach Polo Golf & Country Club, saying he planned to “build 27 homes, priced from $6 million to $10 million.”
