Television icon Jeremy Clarkson is battling cancer.
The âTop Gearâ personality, 66, shared his diagnosis with prostate cancer during the final two episodes of âClarksonâs Farmâ Season 5.
During the episodes â which just dropped on Prime Video â Clarkson abruptly announces to Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper, âIâve got cancer.â
Kaleb then responds with disbelief, âNo, you havenât. Where?â to which Clarkson replies, âWhere it is is of no concern of anybody. Iâve known since May.â
He then explains that when he âdisappeared off the other week,â heâd gone to the doctor and âhad a biopsy.â He said the cancer is âaggressive,â but noted âitâs really early.â
He adds, âI was praying we could get the harvest done and then I could go and get some treatment but itâs going to be slap bang in the middle.â
An emotional Kaleb then tells Clarkson to âlook after yourselfâ and âif you need anything just ring.â
Clarkson continues, saying, âListen, Iâm not daft, itâs going to be in about two weeks, maybe three. Iâll have to go and have an operation and then, the operation is in and out in no time, but your bodyâs out of action for a little while.â
He noted that he âwasnât thrilledâ with the news.
Prior to Clarkson driving away with girlfriend Lisa Hogan, Kaleb shook the reality starâs hand, telling him not to âworry about anything on the farm.â
Later, while chatting with Ireland, Kaleb, Hogan and Gerald Cooper, Clarkson laments, âSo we started the year and I had coronary heart disease and ended it with me with cancer.â
He added that the team shouldnât âdwellâ on âall the bad things,â but to âfocus on things that have happened that are good.â
When asked by Kaleb when theyâd know if the treatments âworked,â Clarkson explains âthereâll be a blood test and then weâll know.â
âNot for another few weeks,â he adds. âCome on cheer up, it probably did work.â
The series then shows Clarkson in a hospital bed noting that he âstarted Season 5 with me in a hospital bed and we are at the end of Season 5 and Iâm back in a hospital bed.â
He also admits that he doesnât âknow whatâs going to happenâ after âsome of the treatmentâ had âgone awry.â
âWhat I wanted to say was if this is all successful Iâll see you for Season 6, and if it isnât, I wonât,â he explains. âTake care everyone.â
Prior to sharing the news, Clarkson hinted that the season wouldnât be an easy one in a âsomberâ Instagram Reel. âTheyâre a difficult watch,â he said of the episodes. âTheyâre really, really difficult.â
Fans flooded to the comments thread with messages of support, with one person writing, âPlease never stop showing us the farm. We love it â€ïž.â Another chimed in, âBut we love you for showing the good, the bad and the ugly side of it all â€ïž.â
A third quipped, âClarkson for Prime Minister.â
A rep for Clarkson was not immediately available for comment on Tuesday evening.
