A new mugshot of Jennifer Lopez’s lookalike has surfaced online – and she looks every inch like Jenny from the cell-block.
Cyrena Anne Quast, the 35-year-old in question, was taken into custody over an alleged $580 shoplifting incident – but it was her similarity to the hitmaker that made the news go viral. Cyrena allegedly stole two double packs of power tool batteries from a store in Monticello on August 30.
An employee at the shop gave police a detailed description of the woman’s appearance and the vehicle she left in, along with its license plate. Cyrena’s Wright County Sheriff’s Office mugshot then went viral on social media, with many users noticing the resemblance with Jennifer. The photograph captured Cyrena in a white T-shirt with her hair scraped back into a high ponytail. She wore large silver hoops along with a lip and nose piercing. She wore minimal makeup with subtle black eyeliner.
“For a moment I thought it was jlo lmao,” penned one user. “There’s a glitch in the matrix lol,” another person penned online. “In prison she’s known as Jenny from D-Block!” added another user.
Cyrena has previously been arrested over alleged offences including drug possession, DWI, theft, fleeing police and providing false identification, according to reports.
Jennifer Lopez’s throwback style
The “Jenny from the Block” hitmaker was raised in the Bronx, New York, and is of Puerto Rican descent. “Growing up in the Bronx really did shape me because I grew up with not a lot,” she recalled while accepting the award for Pop Culture Innovator at WSJ. Magazine’s Innovator Awards back in 2020.
“Everything about me, my kind of grit, I’ve never thought about it or described it this way before, but it is the heartbeat inside of me that is the Bronx and my upbringing that continues to drive me.”
She continued: “When I first came on the scene, I wasn’t trying to be the size zero model or say I wasn’t Latin and change my name. I was Jennifer Lopez. I had a big butt. I embraced that. But I didn’t want to just be the Latin actress or the one who played those types of roles. I wanted to do different roles.”
In the Noughties, Jennifer rocked larger-than-life hoop earrings with velvet sweat sets – think bedazzled Juicy Couture numbers. She was synonymous with her caramel-hued locks, which she often wore up with cascading curls.
