Jelly Roll files for divorce from wife Bunnie XO in shocking move

Country star Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO, are heading for divorce after almost 10 years of marriage. As per TMZ, the “Wild Ones” singer filed for divorce from Bunnie in May in Tennessee, in what was reportedly a mutual decision for the pair. 

The couple have been incredibly open in the past about the ups and downs of their relationship, including a cheating scandal and IVF heartbreak.Jelly, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, first met Bunnie in 2015 backstage at one of his shows, and they went on to tie the knot a year later, on the same night that he proposed to her onstage.

Bunnie has been by his side amid his rise to fame in recent years, and has invited her husband onto her hit podcast, Dumb Blonde, several times. 

During an appearance on the Human School podcast in 2025, Jelly Roll revealed that the pair had endured a rough patch in their marriage when he cheated on her. 

“One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” he admitted. “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”

The star explained that he put in “a lot of work to repair” their marriage and they were then “stronger than we could have ever been”. Jelly spoke about divorce on The Pivot Podcast in 2025, sharing what he had learned in his marriage to Bunnie.

“I learned something in marriage, man. Anybody who tells you, ‘It’s a one-size-fits-all,’ [are going to] get divorced,” he said. “You know what I’m saying? I can tell you that much.”

“Anybody who thinks their marriage is a one-size-fits-all kind of glove, that’s ending in the next decade for sure,” he continued. “People are going to change…You better evolve with the [expletive] times…That’s the only choice you got, dude.”

Jelly Roll explained that he and Bunnie were “so secure” in their marriage after working through their issues. “I guess we went through the hardest [expletive] the first few years because, man, it’s only getting smoother.”

“It’s not even more like I’m just settled in. Like, it’s not even that old stale marriage where they’re just like, you know, like, we’re roommates. You know what I mean?” The couple have also been candid about their IVF journey, with Bunnie wanting to welcome another child to join the family, which includes Jelly Roll’s two kids, Bailee and Noah.

“I’m literally going through IVF treatments right now – the hormones, the shots, all that,” she said in a TikTok video in 2025. 

“I’m going through all of the emotions, the rollercoaster, [and] the worry, just so that I can have a little piece of my husband and me – just a little piece wrapped in skin – to just add to the other two beautiful children that we have together.”
