JAG fans love seeing Catherine Bell‘s Instagram pictures, but one recent post left followers over the moon, as she made a surprising appearance with another pop culture legend – Robert Davi.
The pair were both in attendance at Chicago’s Fan Expo Convention on August 14, 2026, with Catherine, 58, meeting fans of the 1995 series that ran for 10 years, as well as 75-year-old Robert – who starred in The Goonies, Die Hard, and the James Bond movie Licence To Kill.
“The people we run into at these Cons! Spent some time with this remarkably talented man @robertdavi,” Catherine captioned the post which featured a selfie of the pair. “The stories.. the movies… the people he’s worked with. And the voice! Opera trained. Wow!”
The post drew enthusiasm from her followers, with one comment highlighting his famous role as Bond villain Franz Sanchez, and another follower writing: “So when is the project coming out starring the Two of you??!”
“What a great picture. love you guys Love him and YOU,” commented another.
Fan Expo Con was a three-day convention with a wide array of celebrity panels and reunions, including appearances by Twilight cast members Ashley Greene and Peter Facinelli, Star Trek veterans Gates McFadden and Brent Spiner, and a major panel featuring The Lord of the Rings cast: Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd.
Conventions have become a popular way for actors of older TV shows and cult films to form a direct connection to fans. Catherine, a British and American actress, appeared in both Army Wives and in Hallmark’s The Good Witch films and television series, but found fame as Lieutenant Colonel Sarah MacKenzie in the television series JAG, joining the show in the second season after it moved from NBC to CBS.
JAG, a military acronym for Judge Advocate General, was an American legal drama that followed the uniformed lawyers of the US Navy, prosecuting and defending criminal cases in Washington DC, and launched the massive NCIS television franchise.
Fans have long been asking CBS for a reboot of JAG, especially as both Catherine and co-star David James Elliott (Harmon Rabb Jr.) have expressed their willingness to return to the world after they reprised their roles in a multi-episode arc on NCIS: Los Angeles in 2019.
Catherine – who turned 58 in August 2026 – has been making convention appearances for years, and is booked for six more across the next four months of 2026, from Toronto, Canada to Texas and New Jersey.
The actress recently opened up on social media about maintaining her strength and physical health through a mix of Pilates and portable dumbbell workouts while traveling, with the recent strength regimen helping her to prepare for back-to-back convention appearances and fan meet-and-greets.
In May 2026, the actress posted side-by-side before-and-after pictures of her body following a seven-month transformation thanks to strength training and Pilates.
“Almost didn’t share the second photo because it felt a little vulnerable… but I think sometimes we all need a little reminder that change doesn’t happen overnight, but sometimes slowly, quietly, and through CONSISTENCY, especially as we get older!” she captioned the post.
She continued: “Last November I started something quietly — and it has completely changed my body and how I feel – stronger than I’ve been in years. That stubborn over-40 (or 50!) weight? Gone. Actual muscle? Yes. And I travel constantly — this works from anywhere, all you need is dumbbells.”
