Ivanka Trump shared a rare personal glimpse into her family life, with an emotional Mother’s Day tribute that honoured the women who shaped her, and the children who now define her world.
Taking to Instagram, the 44-year-old posted a touching carousel of photographs spanning decades, weaving together memories of her late mother Ivana, her beloved grandmother Babi, and her own journey as a mother to Arabella, 14, Joseph, 12, and Theodore, 10.
At the heart of the post was a powerful message of gratitude and love.”Grateful to my mother and grandmother for teaching me how to love so deeply, generously, and unconditionally,” Ivanka wrote. “To my beautiful children, thank you for making me a mother and expanding my heart exponentially. The greatest privilege of my life is being your mom.”
She concluded simply: “To all the mamas, Happy Mother’s Day! Love to you all!”
The carefully curated images told their own story, there were tender throwbacks of Ivanka as a child with her mother Ivana, who died in July 2022 after a tragic fall at her Manhattan home, as well as joyful family moments marking birthdays, holidays and milestones. Her brothers Donald Jr and Eric also appeared in nostalgic snapshots, offering a rare look back at the tight-knit Trump family in earlier years.
Interwoven with these memories were more recent images capturing Ivanka’s life today, a devoted mother raising her three children with husband Jared Kushner, far from the political spotlight she once occupied.
The tribute comes just weeks after Ivanka opened up about her grief in a candid podcast interview, revealing how the loss of her mother, coupled with her husband’s health battle, prompted her to seek professional support.
“I would talk about her and start to cry, just like I’m still doing — but in a different way,” she admitted, reflecting on the emotional toll of Ivana’s sudden death. “I was avoiding.”
The period marked one of the most challenging chapters of her life. Within weeks of Ivana’s passing, Jared underwent a second surgery following his thyroid cancer diagnosis, a convergence of events that Ivanka described as overwhelming.
“I wanted to make sure I’m really good at being tough,” she said, candidly acknowledging the pressure she placed on herself to stay strong for her family.
Now, she finds comfort in the presence of her grandmother, Babi, who at 99 lives with Ivanka and her family in Miami. “It’s a blessing to have her in our home,” she shared, explaining how she keeps Ivana’s memory alive for her children through stories and shared moments.
“Losing a parent — it hits different,” Ivanka reflected. “Especially unexpectedly… it robbed us of so many years.”
Since stepping back from politics in 2022, Ivanka has largely retreated from public life, choosing instead to focus on her family and a quieter existence. While her husband remains active on the global stage, she has embraced a more private role centred on motherhood.
