A day after it was reported that Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt parted ways, new details have emerged.
A source told People on Friday that the âSaturday Night Liveâ alum and model â who welcomed daughter Scottie in December â would âlike to be friends and do things together, but itâs difficult to think about getting to that place right now.â
The source added that behind the scenes, Davidson and Hewitt are ânot getting alongâ following the birth of their daughter.
âThey were already struggling a bit while Elsie was pregnant,â the insider continued. âThings just happened so quickly between them and they didnât know each other very well.â
Davidson, 32, and Hewitt, 30 are said to be âtrying to work throughâ how theyâll âbe able to co-parentâ their infant daughter after pulling the plug on their relationship.
âSheâs not fighting Pete on seeing the baby, but itâs not smooth sailing,â the source said of the emerging post-split dynamic.
They called the âKing of Staten Islandâ star a âsoftieâ who does âwant to be with the woman he has a child with.â
âItâs not totally out of the question,â they explained, noting that the âsplit was mutual.â
Reps for Davidson and Hewitt did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs request for comment on Friday evening.
On Thursday, the Sun reported that Davidsonâs busy schedule had factored into the split. âPete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born,â a source told the outlet.
âIt was very hard for him because, obviously, he has to work to make money,â they explained.
Another source told the outlet that the split had happened recently, and that they are now âjust focusing 100% on Scottie.â
The alleged breakup apparently didnât come out of the blue â a source told Page Six earlier in May that the duo was ânavigating relationship strugglesâ and that it was âunclearâ how things might pan out for them.
Hewitt and Davidson first publicly flaunted their whirlwind romance with a PDA-packed vacation in Palm Beach in March 2025, with the model debuting her baby bump in a triumphant July 2025 Instagram upload.
The couple enjoyed a bunny-themed baby shower before welcoming Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson on Dec. 12, with Hewitt labeling the infant their âperfect angel girlâ via Instagram.
The âBupkisâ star has made no secret over the years about his desire to raise a family of his own. â[Iâm] definitely a family guy,â he told Kevin Hart on âHart to Heartâ in 2022.
âMy favorite thing ever â which Iâve yet to achieve â is I want to have a kid,â the actor divulged, adding that he was âso excited for that chapter.âÂ
