The first details of Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky’s brand new baby have arrived.
According to a new report from TMZ, per the birth certificate, the couple welcomed a healthy and happy baby girl. Their daughter was actually born on June 9 in Los Angeles, just one month after Gaga’s most recent red carpet appearance, at the premiere of Apple Music Live: Lady Gaga MAYHEM Requiem.
Their daughter is named Rose Bean Polansky. While there is no direct connection between the name to the singer, Gaga does have a tattoo of a rose down her spine, a commemoration of her cover of the song Edith Piaf “La Vie En Rose” for 2018’s A Star is Born.
Bean could also come from activist and Motown singer Carl Bean, who was well known for his 1977 cover of the song “I Was Born This Way,” which in turn served as the inspiration for Gaga’s own 2011 signature hit.
The baby was reportedly delivered by Dr. Robert Katz, per the publication. The couple kept the existence of their newborn private until they were photographed cradling their new daughter in Northern California earlier this month. HELLO! has reached out to the couple’s reps for further comment.
Since late 2019, Gaga has been quietly dating businessman Michael. The pair went public with their relationship the next year, and while they reportedly called it quits in 2023, they got engaged the year after.
The pair have since made numerous public appearances together, with Michael also acting as a producer on her acclaimed last album, Mayhem.
While she’s been Mother Monster for two decades, now she’s finally just mother. Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Germanotta, has been open about her desire to become a mom for several years.
“I will say I am very excited to have kids,” she told InStyle in 2020. “I look forward to being a mom. Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it.”
“Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive. It’s so funny — everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, ‘Welcome to the Womb!'”
She also told Allure about her own connection with her mother Cynthia, especially finding empowerment in watching her put on her makeup and hoping to one day have that with her own “little girl.”
“[My mom] would look so, so beautiful, and so strong,” the “Abracadabra” singer recalled. “She just had such a bravery about her, and it was so inspiring to me. I grew up with this understanding that you can be brave in many different ways, and one of those ways is makeup.”
“I really hope that when I have maybe a little girl one day, or a little boy, and they see Mommy put her makeup on, that they have the same experience that I did.”
