On Tuesday, Miley Cyrus confirmed that she would be honoring the role that catapulted her into stardom with a 20th anniversary special airing next month on Disney+, hosted by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper.
The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, filmed in front of a live studio audience, will stream March 24 on Disney+, and will feature an in-depth interview with the former Disney Channel starlet, during which she will revisit the moments, music and memories that defined an era, as well as never-before-seen archival footage.
“Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection,” Miley said in a press release. The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Ahead of the highly-anticipated event, remember the stars that made up Hannah Montana.
Miley Cyrus and Miley Stewart
Miley, 33, was only 13 years old when she became the titular superstar of the beloved series, becoming arguably the face of Disney Channel for years to come. Since then, she has released “bangerz” (no pun intended) such as “Can’t Be Tamed,” “Wrecking Ball,” “Adore You,” “We Can’t Stop,” and “Flowers” which won her her very first Grammy.
Emily Osment as Lilly Truscott
Emily, 33, has remained in the entertainment industry, appearing in films like Cyberbully (2011), and series like Young & Hungry (2014-2018). She is currently the star of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which premiered in 2024.
Billy Ray Cyrus as Robby Stewart
After Miley was cast as Miley, her father, then known as a country singer, was cast as her on-screen father. Billy, 64, released music until 2011 though has since largely left both the acting and singing industries. Most recently, he has made headlines for his brief relationship with FIREROSE, who has accused him of emotional abuse, and his current relationship with Elizabeth Hurley.
Jason Earles as Jackson Stewart
Jason, 48, is still acting to this day, and has kept a relationship with Disney Channel, starring in eight episodes of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series from 2022 to 2023.
Mitchell Musso as Oliver Oken
Mitchell, 34, continues to work, primarily in voice acting for shows like Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy’s Law. In 2011, he was arrested and charged with a DUI, and in 2023, he was arrested for public intoxication though those charges were dismissed, and he has expressed remorse for both incidents.
Moisés Arias as Rico Suave
Moisés, 31, was 11 years old when she started working on Hannah Montana, and the show ended when he was about 17. He has since also worked as a photographer, and most recently featured in 14 episodes of the Prime Series Fallout.
