The 29-year-old welcomed her son, Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024 with her husband, Justin Bieber. Hailey’s OB/GYN Dr. ThaĆÆs Aliabadi also spoke on the show and Hailey was quizzed over whether her pregnancy was planned or a surprise.Ā

ā€œIt was a surprise,ā€ she revealed. ā€œShe [Dr. ThaĆÆs Aliabadi] told me this was going to happen because she was likeā€¦ā€

ā€œAnd I told her like, ā€˜Don’t get pregnant'ā€ added Dr. Aliabadi.

Hailey then opened up about a reproductive medical condition she was diagnosed with prior to her pregnancy. ā€œYeah. So I had a septum in my uterus, and Dr. A kept saying, ā€˜Well, we need to look at this and keep an eye on it before you get pregnant because it could potentially be an issue,'ā€ she shared.

ā€œā€˜I don’t really know. We’ve got to see. I might have to give you a small surgery for it. Not sure.’ And I was like, ā€˜Okay. Well, I’m not thinking about getting pregnant right now, so we’ll just cross that bridge when we get there.’ And then I magically got pregnant.ā€

ā€œAnd then she calls me, and she’s like, ā€˜I’m pregnant!’ And I’m like, ā€˜No!'ā€ recalled Dr. Alibadi. Hailey’s OB/GYN then explained Hailey’s condition and the risks it can cause in pregnancy. ā€œSo uterine septum is genetic. Again, we’re born with it. So basically, imagine you have a normal-shaped uterus. But inside the cavity of the uterus, imagine this little wall that comes in, this thin wall that comes in,ā€ they shared.

ā€œYou can have a mild, moderate or a severe septum. Basically we measure it on ultrasound. If it’s less than 1 cm, it’s mild. If it’s 1 to 2 cm, it’s moderate. Yours was moderate. It affects 1 to 3 percent of women, and with moderate, you have a higher risk of miscarriage with the pregnancy. And so the risk for her was about maybe 25 to 40 percent risk of miscarriage. And a 10 to 20 percent risk of preterm delivery.ā€

Hailey then admitted that being aware of the potential risk of miscarriage was particularly daunting. ā€œWhich I think was our bigger scare. Because we realized as the baby was growing, the septum it was, you know, expanding. Everything was opening and doing what it needed to do, luckily,ā€ she added.

ā€œAnd I’ll never forget, as I was telling her, ā€˜Well, these are the risks.’ And she looked at me, she’s like, ā€˜You know what? I believe that everything’s gonna work out fine.’ Remember this? And I looked at her, and I’m like, ā€˜I think so too,'ā€ added Dr. Alibadi.
