Former child star Jennifer Hyatt Tedmori is raking in literal pennies for her role on Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.

“It’s that time of the year for me: I got my Ned’s residual checks,” Hyatt Tedmori, 37, said in a Thursday, July 23, social media video, holding up a stack of envelopes. “Some of these could be a penny, some of these could be $5.”

Hyatt Tedmori portrayed Doris Trembly for 11 episodes of Ned’s Declassified, in which Devon Werkheiser played the titular character attempting to survive both the academics and the social scene in middle school.

Opening up the first envelope, Hyatt Tedmori noted that she had a “crashout incoming” once the check read two cents.

Many working actors earn residual paychecks anytime that a TV show they appeared on air in reruns. Such sums even help stars such as Mandy Moore and Glen Powell pay their living expenses between jobs. “Ours is a fickle industry and in my 20+ years of being a performer, my career has ebbed and flowed,” Moore, […]

“All of two cents. See all of this paper I’m just littering in my car for two f***ing cents,” she sarcastically quipped. “I know, hard times [and the] economy is s***, but like two cents? Keep it; just f***ing keep it. I don’t want it.”

Hyatt Tedmori also received checks for $1.11, 63 cents, 68 cents, 81 cents and three cents, among others. When opening the miniscule statements, Hyatt further lamented the cost of even sending a check in the first place.

“Don’t come for me about throwing away a nickel. Y’all had f***ing let a nickel get lost in your couch,” she said. “Don’t come for me. Now I get it, it’s been a long time. I’m surprised that I’m getting anything but three cents? It cost you 75 cents to send this envelope. The way it’s adding up, the math ain’t f***ing math-ing.”

In addition, Hyatt Tedmori opened up residuals from her stint as “Goth Girl” for two episodes of The CW’s 90210 reboot.

“[I got] $21.43. I’m surprised,” she said on Thursday, before totaling the entire batch of checks. “For Ned’s Declassified, that brings us to a grand total of $8.63. With 90210, $30.06. Maybe I can go buy a coffee at Starbucks? Do I even have to report this to the IRS? They’re not even gonna give a f***.”

Everything wasn’t all smiles and slime at Nickelodeon for some of its former stars they claim they’ve never received residuals for their work on the children’s network. “Picketing today at Paramount. Hyatt Tedmori further hoped her followers enjoyed the content and learned more about the process of residuals, which actors receive for syndicated viewings of their past projects.

“I hope you have a great day,” the actress concluded. “I hope you earn more than $30.63.”

Hyatt Tedmori has previously been candid about her fond experience as a child actor on Ned’s Declassified.

“I loved working with you,” she told Lindsay Shaw on a 2023 episode of Shaw’s rewatch podcast with Werkheiser, 35, and Daniel Curtis Lee. “My scenes with you were my favorite, like, Lindsay in between takes was my absolute favorite.”
